TPM (Tyre-Pressure Monitoring) issues?

The TPM on my car is giving me weird errors today. As soon as I started the car it said that front right tire needed air because it lost 4psi. I checked the tire, everything seemed fine and I would fill it up after work. As soon as I got to work; It said that the rear right tire was flat (lost 7 psi). So I parked it and checked the tire; everything was fine. I then reset the TPM system, it relearned the PSI and everything seemed fine (41psi rear - 34psi front on both left and right).

I didn't have an issue with it untill I started playing around with different pressures.

I firmly believe that some days these thigs have a mind of their own. Great idea, they just need to get a little more accurate. Mine will flash on the dash some days when I get into it and just go away after awhile - no explanation.

Have the dealership run a test on them to make sure your receiver is working correctly.

Same deal here. Great idea, still a tad twitchy.

I've got the same setup in an Audi A8L, which also has issues from time to time.

tpms

mine consistantly reads low by 2 lbs (all 4 tires) used several quality guages and digital all say the pressures are higher than shown by 2lbs. club coupe seems very sensitive to tire pressures so now i use tpms at 2 lbs lower than recc.

Mine is still having erratic issues. It is listing the front two tires as having -4psi. After I reset it, it started displaying that the rear tire was -4psi ... Dropping it off for the oil change soon, they can take a look at it.

Reviving an old post because I'm having this exact same problem. If you're still around, what was the resolution?

I was having the same issues the last couple of days. Everytime I would get in the car and start up I would get a -4 psi error code. I would reset the system and everything would be fine until the next start up, then a different wheel would show -4psi error. I finally inflated each tire about 4-5 psi over my normal tire pressure ( I run 34 frt, 40 rear) then let some air out to my normal running pressures, reset the system and everything has been fine for the last week ( I am a daily driver) or so. This procedure seems to work for me anytime my tps starts acting up.

Interesting... that's exactly what mine is doing. Only on startup, but then of course it persists until you reset it. I've had the battery disconnected a lot lately, working on a stereo project. I was wondering if the computer got pissed at me I'll try changing tire pressures and see what happens.

Had a similar issue on the front left the other day. Showed 4 pounds light. Checked with an accurate gauge and got a cold reading of 33. Added 4 pounds and got a reading of 37 pounds from the system again with the tires cold. Lowered pressure 4 pounds and got a reading of 34 cold and haven't had any issues since. First time it has happened since I got the car. Battery could be low in that sensor but going to wait and see before I have it checked.
