19 inch confusion
19 inch confusion
I have a 997 C2 and am planning to change the wheels.I am confused between the 19-inch Carrera Sport wheels as my car is in the GT Silver Metallic colour and the 19-inch SportDesign wheels.I also liked the 19-inch Carrera S wheels in Black...
Now my question is that which ones would suit best as I havent seen any of them personally and is it possible to purchase the 19-inch Carrera S wheels in Black from Porsche after the car has been purchased as those wheels arent in the Tequip section and are shown only in the Exclusive section...So what are my options?

just get a set from ebay, there are alot of great deals just make sure they are authentic.
my opinions:
i prefer the multispoke I think they are the sport design, the only benefit of the 10 spoke wheels are the better offset and wider rear.
if you want to paint them black I think they would be done better at a paint shop, since porsche doesnt paint the inner wheel and they would probably look better with a polished lip

Raffi, the trouble is that I live in India and there is alot of hassle here just to get the rims painted due to lack of skilled labour and Ebay isnt that good here either...That is why I have to depend on Porsche for the original stuff..
Keeping that context in mind, now could you tell me if Porsche would paint them black as shown in their exclusive section? And if not then what would look best?I must admit that I too have a biaset towards the Multispokes but the 10 spoke one is rather made for the GT Silver colour(the same colour as my car)...So,what should it be?

i think porsche usually paints the 10 spoke and lobster forks,
I think they usually only do paint to match the car though.
but with the exclusive program you could probably get anything you want.
Still my first choice would be the silver multispoke with spacers.
even if the wheel color doesnt match your gt silver car.
also I dont think it takes much skill to paint a wheel black.

If you have contacts in the USA, or know which vendor you prefer, you can simply order them here. Freight may be on the high side, but you will get exactly what you want.
Ecks,
I have a GT Silver C2S on order (arrives in two weeks) I went for the XRR option (Carrera sports) I think these look good and they also come in GT Silver so a perfect match in my opinion.

I have the 19" Carrera Sports on my Seal grey 05 997S. They may be called "GT Silver", but in fact, are very close, color wise to Seal grey-- a little lighter esp. in sunlight. They are nowhere close to Porsche's GT silver paint in shade.
