Don't have proof of that, and as you can see from previous post several members will disagree. This is the first AWD Porsche I own, but grew up driving and racing my fathers Porsche's. I guess Porsche has been in our family since I was born..

It's the same picture. One has a name on it, the other doesn't.
RE: the 997 C4S around the Nürburgring, I'd like to see evidence of this...And my original comments were more to the fact that if you or anyone else has ever driven a regular C2S at it's limits, you would never feel the need for what you think is better road holding in the 4wd iterations. The 4 and the 4S only give you a false sense of (added) stability.
I was impressed with the AWD system when I drove it and was able to spend the extra dollars...simply put. Don't need any added stability, owned several AWD and non-AWD sport cars with plenty of horsepower. For the novice driver it problably is a good alternative.
