I can think of another word, but that would be a different thread all together.
Just kidding.
There's nothing wrong with that.

Personally I like the "Furari Vetterossa"

Wow. I get a neg rep from someone, unsigned of course, because they said that my offer to line my 997S up against a Z06 is "N/A" in a post where someone is considering trading their 997S for a Z06 and wanting to get feedback??? So what is applicable to this thread then, skippy one-nutt?

Don't get me wrong (after rereading my post I feel it might have come across wrong, or something like that), the Z06 has crappy interior and build quality. After that trip to the track I mentioned, I had to take it to the dealership and have 11 codes reset. Thats 11 out of 19 possible codes I tripped on one track day. Pretty impressive. I'm waiting for my top to come off at 60 mph. I'm not going to get it fixed at the dealership, I'm just going to let it happen. It's like the worlds biggest surprise so I am waiting for it. And to top all of this off, I am going in a couple of weeks from now to have my clutch replaced, out of warranty, at 1500 miles.
But, after saying all of that, it is a drivers car. It is crude, it has a big engine, LOADS of torque, and as far as a track car goes, it is pretty incredible.
Hey man, i know sometime on this forum i come across as anti american cars because i dont like them, and anti vette because theyre not my taste, but you are one vette only who i like. you know what the car is and what its not and dont go blabbing on like some do about it. i think your posts convey about the z06 what EVERY other vette owner will not tell you. its not very good quality to say the least and that it has tons of probs but is fast and has tons of tq.Originally Posted by tblackj
I would be interested in seeing how a 997TT stacked up against a Z06.Don't get me wrong (after rereading my post I feel it might have come across wrong, or something like that), the Z06 has crappy interior and build quality. Well don't pick up or read any JD power reports cause the Vette matches the 911 across the board. The Chevy brand does not equal the Porsche brand but the Corvette on its own is very good. You might also want to avoid consumer reports as they cannot recommend the 911 do to reliability issues. Originally Posted by PorscheC4

I think there are a couple of factors working here. First, Corvettes outsell 911 3 to 1 so there are simply a lot more cars to complain about. Secondly, and I am guilty of this, I don't think Porsche owners complain all that much but you do hear about significant problems with the cars.
Lastly, if you haven't driven a ZO6, its a real treat. POS or not, its worth a ride around the block.

you know what, i was thinking the other day and its so pointless to argue the way we do a lot, and im as guilty as anyone. they make more vettes so selling 3 to 1 doesnt surprise me. in terms of dependability, Porsche always ranks top 5 in overall dependability and this past year, I read the article a couple months ago, that Porsche eclipsed lexus for #1 in initial quality. this isnt meant to put the vette down, but can chevy say that about either of those catagories, i think not. like i said, i have no desire to drive a z06, i have friends who drive the c5 z06 with tons of mods that are prob faster than the c6 z06s. i just dont like them, thats all. not a fan of the looks or quality and that is very important to me. the speed is great but without the other two components it does nothing for me. id rather have the slower car and better interior/quality and overall package than a car directed at doing only 1 or two things great(money not being a factor).
just for reference to see that it wasnt made up about initial quality.
