Replacing my 997 S for a C6 z06
I sold the M3 as I was supposed to get a 997S back in March but life got in the way. I liked the M3 a lot even the SMG was pretty cool. Kind of wished I had held onto it as I've been driving my PU for quite awhile now. The 745Li is wife's. I have been looking primarily at Porsches, 04-05 GT3 or a new 997S but I have had the opportunity to drive the C6ZO6 twice and honestly I really like it a lot. My wife cringes when I talk about it, she would much rather I get the 911. We'll see.

Selling the M3 was the right choice. The new 335i is almost just as fast and can add more horsepower easily with a few simple mods.
I'm going to call the ASPCA if you guys keep beating this horse...
If anyone is in the Arkansas area and want to line up their 997S against my Z06, I'll donate my time for science sake. Then we can record it on video and post it up. I don't give a crap who wins I just want this to stop. It hurts my eyes to read this BS. Half of you arguing probably havn't ever had a z06 up to it's full potential, ie: on a track. If you havn't, and all you've ever done is drive it around town or you are getting your stats from a magazine or from "this guy I know", then you need to lay low on this arguement.
The Vette has it's quirks and it's little problems, like instant on demand targa, but overall it is an incredible sports car. Sure it doesn't say, "Yo, check me and my overprice car out!" like a Porsche says, but it is VERY fast in a straight line and on a track. I was at a track day not long ago and my Z06, on stock tires, held off almost every car there except a couple of track prepped GT3's that were running race rubber.

Re:
I would like to see a video as well but against a 997TT.
I'm sure everyone is in agreement that the z06 will beat a 997s in straight line or track performance. Most people here are discussing the other intangibles (looks, quality, interior, status & etc.)
With all the videos that have surfaced, I'm surprised there isn't one of a 997TT vs a Z06 going at it.

I would be interested in seeing how a 997TT stacked up against a Z06.
Don't get me wrong (after rereading my post I feel it might have come across wrong, or something like that), the Z06 has crappy interior and build quality. After that trip to the track I mentioned, I had to take it to the dealership and have 11 codes reset. Thats 11 out of 19 possible codes I tripped on one track day. Pretty impressive. I'm waiting for my top to come off at 60 mph. I'm not going to get it fixed at the dealership, I'm just going to let it happen. It's like the worlds biggest surprise so I am waiting for it. And to top all of this off, I am going in a couple of weeks from now to have my clutch replaced, out of warranty, at 1500 miles.
But, after saying all of that, it is a drivers car. It is crude, it has a big engine, LOADS of torque, and as far as a track car goes, it is pretty incredible.

I suffered with two blown engines, one tranny, a few differential issues and one flying roof on my 06 Z06.
The 07 Z06 has held up well.

z06 is a sports car, plain and simple. fast, loud with not much caring of the owners desire for soft touch plastics and plush leathers. if your into that type of thing and money is somewhat of an object its perfect. personally I want a car that performs as good AND reminds me without even driving it why I invested 140K+ into it. No Chevy product can do that. No Corvette Z06 or future faster 100k versions will change that either. But no one can discount the sheer performance this car generates.

Line them up anytime turdsmoker. I'll beat that *** even with my blown clutch. I'd be ahead of you faster than you could say Mexicoblew.
