Just wondering what supercars can beat in a straight run a Porsche 997 Carrera S with a EVO Supercharger Kit at 500 bhp.

1)Ferrari F430
2)Ferrari F360
3)Porsche 996 Turbo
4)Porsche 997 Turbo
5)Lamborghini Gallardo
6)Lamborghini Murcielago
7)BMW M6
8)Corvette C6 Z06

If you have any experiance with any other cars please share....

If not....just make a speculation.

I don't know about the rest but I am pretty sure of these from driving a buddies 996SC.

 

Actually, I think I'd take a 996TT. And you seem sure of a 360 but not a 430, which seems a little backwards too. Just a thought.

 

all of those would out run it except for the 360 modena.

 

The 430 is fater than the 360. He asked which cars the 997SC would beat.

BTW, I said it would be faster than the turbo too.

A completely stock 996tt though? I'd like my chances in that race . . .

Not that I'm hating on the 996tt platform. Best around for mods, and I'm sure there's one in my future. But bone stock, I think I could take one from start to finish, but not by a lot.

 

I was under the impression the original poster was wondering what cars a Supercharged 997 would out run. I posted (From a POSITIVE experience driving a buddies 996 Sc) cars that I have raced myself and know the outcome.

not from personal experience...but my opinion is you can beat M6 and 996tt....you will be at the same with gallardo,F430 and 997tt...no way a VETTE or a murcielago..i left last the 360 cuase i have a small experience,a buddy of me has and my 997s with ECU,headers,cats,mufflers,carbon airbox,intake ,throttle is quicker.....so a SC997s will destroy a 360

 

no way no how you'll be catching a 997TT... your potential road kill from that list would be the 996TT(For Sure), 360(For Sure), M6(Depending on Driver), Gallardo(Depending on Driver)... as far as 430, 997TT, Z06, or Murci... you'll be dreaming too hard buddy...

I think stock for stock a 360 and a 997S might even depend on driver.. Im willing to bet that ill take a 360 with my 997S, i have GIAC and Muffler bypass pipes.. challengers in so cal?

 

I can understand the scepticism for the Murcielago,997TT and Z06,but having in mind the Power to Weight Ratio-Drag Coefficiant - Gearing and Traction i belive it would be a close one with the F430.(Have in mind that all 4WD Cars suffer a great deal of Power Loss above 75...)

don't forget some of 6speeder with sc and exhaust are closer to 540hp than 500, f430 is 490hp.

 

hp doesn't count dude... the 430 is mighty fast... around the same as a 997TT... and besides the 997TT only have around 480 as well... now why would the 997SC take the 430 not the TT, the TT being 4WD...
