Question Why do you drive a porsche

Let's see, you can't take it to shopping center-may get keyed. Don't like to drive it in the rain. At restaurants it costs 5$ for the attendant to park out front. Hard for old fart like me and my wife to get in. Wife thinks I'm nuts for the lack of comfort and cost. Couldn't put top down when I had cabs if wife in car. Expensive insurance, expensive property tax. Expensive car for what you get.Stays inthe garage most of time, pain to drive manual in traffic. Have to keep one eye looking for the cops. costly to maintain. Oh, i forgot
I't makes me feel good each time i get in for the 40 years i have been driving. I love the sound of the engine, love the feel of control and particularly the look of every male when i drive up to a light. That makes it worth it and more.

I drive a porsche because its fun. I drive it in the rain, beach, shopping center, etc. I have let many people drive my porsche. To me I don't care about the keying and all that other stuff so I park it in the most conveinent place. I love depreciation and could care less about loosing money. I think alot of people should realize at the end of the day its just a damn car. This is just my way of driving my porsche and all my cars. Not trying to be sarcastic just trying to be real.

How about "midlife crisis". Really I feel that every car loving man has to say once in their life they have owned a Porsche.

I think its the fact that the car "on paper" is techically a horrendously stupid idea (ala backwards dart)...that works magnificently on the road and on the track and provides a level of fun and involvement only matched by chasing down a grizzly bear and wrastlin it down to the ground...and EVERYONE knows how that feels...

I drive Porsches and other nice cars. At the moment I am Driving an M3. I had a 911. I take it to the mall (if it gets keyed, i know a great guy), I drive it in the rain no problem. $5!?! your lucky, here in Miami "VIP" parking is between 20 and 60. I refuse to pay that much to park a car, I will park it myself, I would rather spen an extra 5 minutes looking for a spot. Never a Garage Queen, that would be sad. Manual in Traffic, it's already second nature, I don't notice it. Maintenance-you know what your getting into. If one can't afford it one shouldn't get it. As far as Top down, i only have it up if it's raining or cold, other wise it's down, to hell with the female in the right seat.
Great experience driving one, puts a smile on my face every time!!
