Tubi or AWE?
No fricken way. Trovan find my wheels and I got some goodies for ya. You definetly are the man.
Judge post pics when you have it installed. Also make sure Trovan does not do the install.

I have an '05 997 S with PSE, but I think the guy I bought the car from had the Porsche dealer add it after the fact, and although it has the orange plug in the engine compartment, I unplugged it and it did nothing (that I could hear), which leads me to believe that it's always open?
I would like the car to be a little louder, so I was thinking of getting some Sports cats... I don't think I want to drop $4-6k on a complete new exhaust system... So my question is, will just changing to Sports cats make a difference? And if so, do I go with the AWE or ? Personally I like the whiney Ferrari / Lambo sound, so what will get me closest to that sound?
Thanks!

Hey Marc, good to see you on here. I really dont see how you find the PSE not loud enough.
as some others have done here, if you want louder than you might need the bypass pipes, they are cheap and easy to install.

I wasn't saying my Porsche would sound like a a Ferrari, I just said I liked that sound and I heard the Tubi sound similar-ish....
Raffi, thanks! Everyone here is cool, and has some good info!
Seems like from what I have been told, the PSE is about as loud as it gets???? So maybe i'll stick with what I've got until I get the next car.. whatever it ends up being....

HWJunkie, there is a guy in our local Porsche Club that does track days with us and he has a 997 c2s with Tubi and his car still sound like a 997 c2s. The overall acoustic sound characteristic of a 3.8l Porsche engine is there with all these mufflers it is just that some accent certain harmonic charactoristics over others. The Tubi mufflers are very quiet at idle and lower rpms but they sound a little more raspy at higher rpms. Hope this helps you some.
I heard the PSE in a huge garage, cold start and it sounded CRAZY, but not worth the price for the extra weight and minimal if any performance!!
This AWE 997S sounds awesome

10g is the magic number. I got my car back yesterday from Champion. TUBI, WERKS box & reflashed ECU. car runs like a spotted *** ape. was a little taken aback by the change in disposition. it went from being subdued to raucous. it is loud and fast. yup, i am a happy boy!
