No problem -- I know you didn't and I didn't take offense. Just trying to counter what you wrote so that the world doesn't think AWE = Honda Fart Can. Nobody that has ever heard the AWE system has posted such an opinion, so it was a bit of a surprise to hear...

Although I didn't agree with your analogy of it sounding like a Honda, I did understand where you are coming from as I came out of Mustang Cobras and their DOHC V8. Once you own a V8, particularly a high winding one you are jaded as far as automotive sounds are concerned. You learn to appreciate other sounds as I did with my 04 M3 with a full supersprint setup other than a Borla and now my 997S.

I know I have posted this before but I went through a lot before I selected my mufflers. I heard Tubi at the track and down at Champion Motorsports and at Reeves Porsche, AWE at a car meet and Fabspeed at a dealer in NC. I also heard and drove PSE cars during my purchase and during a PDE in Birmingham.

they all sound good a lot the same for the basic note of the sound coming out of the exhaust. This is due to the engine being the same. The differences are in the volume of sound and the overall harmonics of the sound. Think of it this way...take 4 different styles of acoustic guitars and play the E string. Each will be the same not but different volumes and harmonically sounding...ie the tone of the guitar.

Tubi is the most quiet especially and idle and low throttle inputs. Tubi sound stock at idel and low throttle inputs. WOT has a bit of a european muffled and muted howl.

AWE has a low muffled muted sound with a puff or air in the sound. Louder than Tubi but not all that loud to me. AWE sound deeper than Tubi and a little deeper and more muffled sounding than Fabspeed.

PSE with the open mod has a raspy bark type of sound and good burble on decell. PSE is much louder than AWE or Tubi.

Fabspeed does not have the raspy bark of PSE but it sounds much more open than AWE and Tubi. There is some slight burrble on decell and at WOT the wail of the engine sounds Cup car like but muted. Fabspeed is louder than AWE and Tubi and about the same level of volume at PSE but a totally different harmonic to the Fabspeed sound.

between the two there isn't a right and wrong choice but if you're doing _just_ the muffler then the Tubi is louder. If you do the full AWE system then it evens things out. The Tubi has its own distinct high pitch and the AWE is deeper/throatier. As a "system" the AWE is geared more for power....

Tubi is louder than AWE? hummmm...maybe we hear a little different. I thought Tubi was more quiet especially at idle and low throttle calm driving. AWE is pretty quiet though but like you said a deeper note to the exhaust sound.

I have never heard either TUBI or AWE in person , but i have heard the factory sport exchaust .In fact that was what persuaded me to buy a c4s .The car car i ended up buying did not have PSE . But i am interested to know what the PSE W/ "open mod " is ?
So bottom line all you guys somewhat agree the PSE sound better than most aftermarket mufflers ? Why not get PSE and then maybe add HEADERS and CATS ?

P-Audio, PSE sounds very good but it is a very heavy weighted system and I wanted to lighten up my car when I can and ended up liking the sound of other aftermarket mufflers and bought Fabspeed mufflers. If you are never going to really get into track days and auto cross and want a very good sounding exhaust get PSE. For the street it is prefect.

The always on mod is easy to do. There is an orange plug/connector on the top rightside in the engine bay. Unplug it and cover the connectors to keep them clean and now the muffler will be in the always on mode. This is when PSE sounds it's best.

THere is a PSE for sale on ebay if you do a search for around $800 right now.

Are you saying these comparisions--by the way well written Mdrums-are just mufflers only or are they full exhausts?
Also what do you have entirely on your S>? mufflers and intake or sport cats?

THanks in advance!!
