Tubi or AWE?
Thanks Spyder, I spoke with Alex a few days ago. He is currently working on a few TT's, so does not have anything to show. He recommended TUBI as well. I am going to the meet up in a few weeks, so should be able to see many. The Santana Row idea is a good one... I have the itch now and do not want to wait...
thanks again.
thanks again.
I have had the AWE system(headers, catalytics & mufflers) on my 997S for about 14000 miles now. It sounds great. At lower speeds, it is not excessively loud. Under open throttle, it emits a deep growl. Above 4500 rpm, it screams. No resonance anywhere. In conjunction with an Evo airbox & Giac reflash, it pulled 321 rear wheel horsepower on AWE's Mustang dyno.
Fit and finish is excellent. Labor to install will run about 4 hours.

any idea what RWHP was stock?
Without knowing it, you just did a huge disservice to all that will read this post. As you say, you cannot pass judgment based on listening to a sound clip -- Honda / Fart Can?!? You really need to hear the AWE in person and then you will be coming back here to this post and editing out what you wrote about it...
Ron, as you well know, sound is totally subjective......
One man's Honda fart can, is another's "AWE symphony"!!
No logic or rational gets applied....
Customer count is the only objective measure of acceptance, and I suspect Mike and the team at AWE Tuning sleep very well at night knowing they have great support through healthy numbers....

I know it's all subjective, but to judge based on an internet sound clip out of a set of computer speakers caused me to respond. One thing I've never thought about AWE, Tubi, or Fabspeed is "Honda Fart Can". Now the dozens of people that have listened to my car on the track and street have compared it with all sorts of Porsche race cars and a few "old timers" (Porschephiles for decades) have said "Ron, that's the best sounding Porsche I've ever heard".
Regarding the question about stock power, I did not have the car tested prior to installation of exhaust & airbox. Stock rwhp numbers of 295 have been reported. With the conventional 17 percent loss factor(16 percent is also used) in the drivetrain, this is generally equivalent to the factory claimed 355 cshp.
Stock dyno figures up to 305 to 310 rwhp have been reported on some machines. Numbers will vary by the particular machine, how the car is run, its calibration for that run and probably the phases of the moon. It is also quite possible that different cars will pull up to 5 to 10 rwhp plus or minus.
The car pulled 314 rwhp with exhaust & airbox, about 378 cshp, a 23 cshp increase. With the reflash, 321 rwhp corresponds to 386 cshp, a 31 cshp increase. The numbers all appear to be plausible. With the IPD plenum, it is definitely stronger & I will post figures when I get it on the dyno again.
It would be interesting to see relative power numbers for different dynamometers testing the same car.

I've been told similar things at PCA DE events.....
Again,... it's all subjective opinion, but good subjective opinion

MichaelL Thanks for the feedback!!
Well I hope that my Fabspeed that I got will sound great. I have only put the tips on since that is the easiest thing to do and will have a shop put the actual exhaust on. I was going to get the sport cats later but hope that the exhaust alone will sound better than my stock system.
Also,,Do you have to take off the rear bumper to install the mufflers? I heard some people say you do and some people say you dont..
