Let me rephrase that... at idle the tubi is quiet... It has a valve inside that opens when under WOT and that's when it's louder

I have the Tubi boxes, and have the manifolds on order.
The F77 car that is on Youtube sounds insane, that must have cats fitted as well.
Im in two minds about the intake, its a lot of money for what is just an air filter, but I want my car to sound like the F77 demo car in that video, its insane!

The mufflers in your video sound GREAT...the Tubi mufflers on a 997S at my track events and the F77 car are really quiet...weird huh?

Just an echo I think. The video doesn't give the sound credit. It's what I imagine a Porsche SHOULD sound like.

Just got off the phone with Champion, they assure me that high flow cats were not fitted to their car. The mic was mounted on the decklid, apparently that give quite alot of induction noise. Can anyone with the champion airbox chime in on this one? Im on the verge of buying this airbox if thats what it sounds like.
Still not keen on taking a dremel to my car though.

Baptist,
Any update on the airbox ?
I agree that Tubi mufflers do not sound the same as the F77 car in the video. Its missing a raspy element to the sound that i would really like to add (the Tubi IS very good though).
There is a part near the end of the video (image of the front wheels) when the driver is down shifting thats EXACTLY the sound that i want to get.

Thx

contact 997PXO over on rennlist. He drives in my PCA club and has Tubi. His car is stock quiet and idle and cruising around the pits. I hear him out on the track at full song coming down the straight and the car is rather quiet compared to other 997's with Fabspeed and PSE. To me if you just want to open up the sound a bit then Tubi would be the way to go as they are just a little louder than stock.

It is weird how the Tubi on Ferrari is lound but not Porsche. Wonder what Tubi was thinking?

Mdrums,
I have the Tubi already... just my first week with it right now.
It IS a great sound, but not quite like the F77 car on the video.
Its deeper sounding and does not have the same raspy sound you hear on the downshifts. This may just be what its like if you sit on the engine cover (where their mike was positioned for the video).
The Tubi is plently loud enough when i get on the gas and sounds really great at WOT, but just deeper that the F77.
I wonder how much the airbox contributes to this sound.
Perhaps my car sounds like that right now and i just dont get the same from the driving position (even with the top off)

Its possible i need to break in the mufflers a bit more. They certainly seem to be better sounding now than a few 100 miles ago (less deep tone, little more raspy)

Sounds like Baptist came to a similar conclusion
