997 ---- Consumer Reperts Poor reliability
I have bought my first 997 2007 and love it.
Wanted on my whole life now have one.
Consumer Reports rates reliability as poor.
what have you guys experienced?

Consumer Reports has never gave good reliability to a true sports car that I have ever seen. 7k miles on my 2006 and only a rattle in the cabriolet top that was fixed in a few minutes at the dealer.
My car has been bulletproof since day one (knock on wood) .. can't say the same for my Touareg.

There was a thread like this over on rennlist a while back. One of the comments made was that Porsche buyers are typically more demanding about issues the car may have early on. Going by just this I can see why Consumer Reports would rate it as poor, not great investigative work in my opinion.

One has to really wonder from where they get their information.
Not only when it comes to automobiles, but my own experience with electronics/stereos/home entertainment etc. for example, some of the stuff they "recommend" has to some of the worst junk known to modern man
.An absolutely useless source of information and a waste of resources IMHO.
