Subwoofer Install in 997 Coupe

New to the board (picking up a new 997 S on Thursday) and having difficulty finding some pics of subwoofer installs in a 997 coupe. Anyone have any good examples of a clean looking sub install in a 997 that doesn't sacrifice the rear seats? I want to upgrade the stereo soon and am looking for some good ideas. Any help here would be greatly appreciated...

Check with your dealer about using the same location where the Bose subwoofer would go or get the complete Bose system.
I am very happy with my Bose system. Also if you plan on doing any suspension mods, like strut braces, be careful on your aftermarket SW install. The rear strut brace is incorporated with the SW location on the 997

check out Reus if you don't want to loose the backseat. They install the sub in the front trunk and add a port into the cabin. www.reusaudio.com They fly installers all over the country to install.

I had their system in my C4Cab and M5. Sound is clean and install is first rate.

btw. You only have to buy their system once. for a small labor fee, they'll take the system out when you're selling your car and put in a new one in your next car. Talk to Rick about for more details.

Pete

My local stero shop says they install 8"s underneath the rear seats. I'm going to go back and ask some more questions. I'll report on whether or not it sounds Gheto or not.

I think he meant Unique Autosport:

They usually prefer whole new systems and "no budget" installs, but good luck.

Yep that is what I meant. They did do an outstanding job with a stereo install on a Ferrari F-430. Not everything is ghetto.

If the back seats are the same size as the 996s, I have a single subwoofer housing that won't really sacrifice your back seats. They sit on the 996 rear left seat and can be removed and placed in the trunk if the seat needs to be used. If they are of the same dimensions, it just might be what you're looking for. LMK.

What?? Who said Unique Whips? After watching their show I wouldn't let them touch my car with a 20' pole. Their quality of work hmmmm....about medium, sure looks nice on camera though.
