Question Interesting problem occured today.

I dropped my car (07 997S 2900 miles) off at the dealership on Friday afternoon so they could finally address my brake squealing problem (which they did). When I picked up the car today and as I began to pull out of the service area the engine sputtered a little bit as I was slowly pulling away; I didn't think too much about it but knew I'd never had this happen before. We then went shopping at the mall for about 2 hrs and when I went to drive away the exact same thing occured when I was backing out of the parking space. I would best describe this a the engine sputtered/hesitated a few times as I increased the rpms slighlty to begin backing out (with the clutch dpressed) and again as I gave it some rpms to pull away. The car seems to clear itself of this malady after about 30 seconds of the engine running and it only seem to occur when the engine is warm, not hot or fully cold. Anyone have any experiance with this? Any thoughts would be most welcome.

Thanks.

Mine does this from time to time. Dealer can not recreate this problem and there are no codes for them to look at. According to the dealer if there are no codes thrown there is nothing wrong with the engine or if they can not re-create the hesitation.

Try that or I would disconnect your batter(neg) and then let it be for about 5min. Then reconnect. That might reset any Ecu setting unwanted and might return the car to stock defaults>> Might work?

I get a similar symptom on slow starts as I am letting out the clutch and power is being applied slowly. I only happens from time to time and normally clears up immediately after the first hessitation.

A word of advice if you decide to go this route, after you plug the battery back in and start the car .. you will have several failed messages on the screen (no-psm no-pasm). Don't freak out .. just drive it for a couple miles and it will fix itself back up.

Ever since the weather became humid here, my car has been idling really low at startup (almost going to die) .. I guess the cars might have an issue with moisture.

Happened once or twice about 3 months after I bought it and hasn't happened again, knock on wood. I think the engine management software is adapting to the way you drive, seems to only happen on fairly new cars.
