Power gain with new mods

I know this has been discussed heavily already, but I am curious what kind of hp/tq gains I could expect from some mods I'm getting installed tomorrow. I am getting an EVO intake, AWE exhaust (no cats/headers though), and GIAC. I searched around the board but haven't found anyone with this setup yet. Any thoughts on the estimated gains is appreciated.

honestly, if you're doing the intake, a muffler, and giac, maybe 10 hp. I know mufflers give almost nothing on the dyno, and same goes for the intake. The GIAC will probabally be the best thing you're doing in conjunction with those mods. Plenum, High flow cats and headers would yield the most paired with the GIAC, next to a supercharger. Intake and muffler just makes your car sound better. IMO

i would agree with v35, i would say prob about 15 hp. doing headers and race cats would be much better for you in addition to those other mods prob would get you 25-30 crank hp with headers, race cats, exhaust, intake, and chip. i also second the plenum. a lot of guys have been getting 25-30 crank hp from just that!

You will sound better but not go any better. If you do the header and cats to complete the exhaust and the Plenum that some on here swear by you might get around 15hp is my guess. Until you go to the internals and get more flow out of the heads and work with the fuel/air mix by mapping your own fuel curve you will not see much of anything.

Just do it!

I did a before and after dyno....stock to AWE full setup, EVO intake, GIAC FLASH and was pleased with the gains and the amazing sound! As you see below I had some "off the line" lag which was solved with a re-flash to the new GIAC software. Sorry, no dyno as of recent. I also just added the Plenum and the car is even more responsive!

Good luck!

Synergy, dyno runs were done a month apart so weather and other conditions had to come in to play for the better or worse. Even though it looks like you lost some power in places, stayed about the same in places and gained 10-20hp in a few places. How much total did all these mods end up costing?
Thanks for at least posting your graph. Mike

Although you are correct that weather and such can play a role on dyno #'s normally the shop that is doing these dyno's use a correction factor due to temp and baro pressure. Also, the graph synergy posted doesn't really help us...I wish it was plotted with the crossover for Tq and Hp at the 5250rpm crossover. Low end tq. loss below 4k rpm I wouldn't even sweat it..

I have the same setup as Synergy, but have not had my car dyno'd. I have gone head-to-head with another C2S on the track on a straight-away. There was no comparison - he couldn't come close to keeping up with me. Adn he was trying to beat me (And this didn't have to do with me coming out of the corner at a faster speed.) I also got into it with a 360 on the freeway (I hate to admit it) and would have beaten him if I had more space. I was very surprised by this as I was expecting to get beaten. From my experience there is a noticable difference between stock and this setup.

First off - Thanks to everyone for all of your thoughts and opinions...

I ended up going with an EVO intake, AWE mufflers, and GIAC flash to start. I picked up the car last night and was excited to feel/hear the results. The exhaust definitely produced a much better sound, although around 4k-5k RPM made a loud almost vibrating sound as it crossed through that RPM range - is that normal?

After driving the car about 5 miles and not really getting a good chance to feel it out - I began crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge (NY'ers know how long this bridge is). As I started crossing the bridge, I hit a brick in the road that apparently had fallen off of a truck a few cars ahead. I felt it go under the front passenger side wheel accompanied by a BANG! About 5 seconds later the flat tire warning came on. I was watching the tire pressure dropping as we were 'racing' against time to get across the bridge safely before it completely lost pressure. We finally made it to the toll plaza and pulled over to take a look. The brick shredded the sidewall so the 'fix-a-flat' was not an option. I called Porsche Road Side Assistance and was told that because we were on a highway/bridge that they couldn't send a flatbed as it is considered a restricted zone. At that moment a Bridge & Tunnel Authority truck pulled up and called a flatbed to take us off the end of the bridge to bring the car to a non-restricted zone. After about an hour a flatbed shows up, loads up the car safely, and takes us to the next exit to drop us off in a mini-mall parking lot. After unloading the car, I called Porsche Roadside again who sent a flatbed to pick the car up and store it overnight, so they can tow it to the dealer this morning...Needless to say, I was bummed.

In any event, while it is going back to the dealer today, I am thinking of adding the AWE cats/headers and plenum to the car to give it a little more boost. Am I correct in assuming the GIAC flash disables the sport button? Didn't seem to be working yesterday... All in all, the damage could have been much worse and now it gives me a chance to get more upgrades...

sport button still works but the difference between no sport and sport is drastically reduced

Last night's 'snafu' is adding another $1500 to the tab - new wheel (bent) and tire...But ordered the cats and headers...Dealer told me anything done regarding the plenum will affect the warranty...Anyone hear the same?

The plenum is not an internal engine part IMO and should not affect the warranty again IMO. What is the difference between adding a plenum and changing the header or cats?

I don't get it. I have the plenum and like it.

I have the AWE complete system, Evo airbox & Giac reflash. It dynoed at 321 rwhp on AWE's Mustang all wheel dyno. This backs up numbers posted by synergy. Had the IPD plenum installed after & it seemed to provide a good midrange boost. Intend to get it dynoed again. Anyone know of a Long Island shop with a Mustang dyno?
