I love the smoked lights but, Decided against them for safety reasons. I was rear ended in my '03 C4S by one car that was consequently hit by another. Seemed like relatively minor damage, but turned out to be $40,000 worth of damage and 101 days without that car while it was being repaired. Insurance paid for every penny but, if my tail lights had been tinted, I would assume an attorney could make a case the driver behind me didn't see the brake lights because of the tint. This hit also seriously affected the trade in value even though the repair was perfect. They run check off the VIN's for major repairs now.

I was also rear ended twice by the same TRUCK in my new 997 Turbo last December while STOPPED at a light. The driver said he didn't see me!?! Thankfully, no damage was done, but accidents do happen and I wouldn't take that chance even though I love the look.

Just something you might want to consider from a paranoid friend.

Do you have a picture of a grey 997? I believe I see a grey 997 in the first photo, however it is a bit hidden....

Thanks in advance.

I have a brand new set that is lightly smoked from just last week. The taillights are also new and in perfect condition in oem porsche box.

I decided not install as i decided to go with the all red tailights instead. I am willing to trade for the all red versions if anyone wants to as well.

The smoked tail lights would cost ~$300 - $350 depending on whether you have aother tail light at the wing.

If you are worried about safety reasons, I would too suggest that you do not smoke your tail lights, or another solution would be to smoke it lightly. It would still look stunning!=)
