Anyone use paintscratch?

I got my car back from the garage and I found a nice 2" scratch on my rear bumper.. they denied responsibility (expected) and I didn't have anything to prove otherwise. Lesson learned, take pictures before handing over and avoid that garage..

Long story short .. since I plan on installing the rinspeed bumper in a couple of months, I am not going to take it to the body shop for a repaint. I am thinking about using the 'paintscratch' Paint Pen to fix the area .. any thoughts on it?

Thanks!

Trust me dont use it, Its obvious that the area has been fixed up with a paint scratch pen. I would leave it as it is and if the scratch isnt that deep,Give it a nice wax/detail when you fix your new Rinspeed Parts.

Give it a nice coat of polish and wax, if it doesn't go away then get some touch-up from the dealer and Langka. Or if you're really good painter then get dealer touch-up paint and some micro-brushes (from hobby lobby). The superfine ones will fit in the scratch but never use the brush that comes with the touch-up paint (too thick).

Thanks but the scratch is a bit too wide and a bit too deep for polish + wax .. I talked to the garage again; apparently he is going to check the videotapes for anything.

If you don't want to do it yourself, a good bodyshop can blend it in for you. It'll still show but you have to look for it!

Call a paint ship repair service and they can blend with airbrush.

Is the scratch deep enough to be felt with your finger nail? If so, and you're not looking to repaint, using the touchup paint you mentioned and color-sanding afterwards should do just fine; not perfect though.

If the scratch can't be felt with your finger nail a rubbing compound should remove it.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

Aaron

Well .. its more of a gash than a scratch, so using the aggressive polish/wax trick won't work. I am definetly taking it to a body shop to see the options ..

Or I might just go over it with a sharpie and wait until the rinspeed parts come in.
