11.5 sec quarter mile seems to be on the slower side.

I bet it can do better.

The beast is far more capable of better number than that. The reality however is that it is still faster then most anything you'll see on the road. Smaller pulley, chip and the zr1 will dip in the low tens no problem. Did I read it correctly ? 'They do not powershift?' Give me a break. My dad just ordered a cyber grey one and should have it in two months. I can;t wait to line em' up and see how bad he beats me.

Ranger or Jamie will definitely put down quicker times.. I'm sure she's a real ***** to get off the line cleanly.

Should be a 10.6-10.7 car on stock tires (PS2's on the ZR) which, if you stop and think about it, really is amazing.

C&D did say they weren't using the same power shifting methods as GM out of fear of breaking something. Theres a vid with Heinrecy doing no lift full throttle shifts with the CTSV so maybe thats how GM got the numbers with the ZR1.

you wouldnt need to power**** the zr1 to hit 10s i wouldnt think

traction and good weather/track prep would be the key

The cars seem to be running on the slow side for some reason. Maybe the extra weight, but I'm not sure. Here's a email from a buddy that raced one the other night in his C6 Z06 with only a Killerbee intake and a tune (less than 500 rwhp):

What's up buddy.

Well, I don't know what to think, really. The car is beautiful in person. Honestly, its awesome and even the glass/hood thingy looks hot!

But, in the end... after three runs... we were DEAD EVEN. First run we both hit together and ran "connected at the hip" even all the way to 160mph. Second run, I hit before he did, unintentionally, and pulled a half a car and stayed like that until he missed fourth gear... after that, he couldn't catch up. The last race, he jumped the third honk, took a half a car lead, which at around 145mph, in 4th gear, I began to pull back to and match his bumper at 170mph+.

DEAD EVEN!!!

Its unbelievable and probably no one will believe it, especially the loyalists. But this is what happened, truthfully.

I really the think the weight of that car is slowing it down, but with mods, it should be quite dangerous... quite! Also, passenger wise, there was only a 15lbs. difference between us. My friend rode with him and assured me that he powershifted ever gear. He drove it hard... but could not pass me.

Anyways, that is it...I magine the owner of that ZR-1, which he wasn't happy when we met after words.... imagine what he must of felt with a z06 neck and neck with him in the baddest corvette made... which it is.

GREAT NIGHT, had an unbelievable time!

interesting. isn't the ZR1 just as light, if not, lighter than the Z06?

I am under the impression that it's a stripped down Z06, with the LS9 and different suspension.

The ZR1 actually gained a couple, I believe the 3300-3400lb range (Z06 31-3200?) with all the additions made to the car to cope with the extra power. But I thought the shorter gearing would've gave the advantage at that speed, correct me if im wrong guys.
