the kr is the old body style so it will not be getting more than 540. i dont believe they will create another kr for this body style either. that would kill the intrigue of the last kr. shelby and ford could still create a limited edition r(race model like the 2000 svt r) if it wanted to. you might also see the shelby gt350 when the mustang gt gets a bump in power in 2011.

Read what I said again. I was talking about POWER and PRICE. "Probably could buy a new 422 HP Camaro SS and add a blower for less." I don't see the word weight anywhere in that sentence....adding the blower to the SS would give it like 550 plus HP and it would be much less.

Even if I was talking about weight, the weight of a Maggie blower is like 40 pounds.....even with all the hardware maybe 100 pounds.

all i am saying is that if you are going to call the 3850lb gt500 "still too heavy" you need to call the 3860lb ss heavy as well. as you can see the gt500 and ss weigh the same currently. and that is before you add the blower to the ss.

 

When did I say the new Camaro isn't heavy? I didn't, it is heavy. My point was for much less money a new SS can be made as fast, or faster then a GT500.

 

great point. you could also add the blower to the mustang gt and make it faster for less money. you could even add some suspension to the mustang gt and blower and have it as fast as the z06 on a road course for 50k.

You'd need alot more then a blower to make a lowly 315 HP GT fast. Hell the base Camaro V6 has almost as much power.

I think that both the '08 and this GT500 look great. This model looks a bit sharper though.
