New guy in a C5 Z06
New guy in a C5 Z06
Hey there!
I'm on many other forums so why not add one more, lol.
I'm an ex-military (Army Airborne Infantry) member and current student at USC (University of South Carolina) and have a house in Columbia, SC.
I'm a big car enthusiast, with particular interest in Corvettes. I used to do car shows in my '68 Corvette Convertible but now I'm more into racing my '01 Corvette Z06 at drag strips, autocross (autox), and road courses/tracks.
Anyways, here's a few pics!

Thanks!
I'm actually taking it to its first track weekend at CMP (Carolina Motorsports Park) in Kershaw, SC for some road course action with NASA. Pretty excited to finally be able to open it up on a track (autox is so slow but technical, drag strip ends at 118ish for me, and back country roads make me nervous lol).

Well so far today I cracked both rear rotors and had to put on new ones. I thought my lines had air in them, but after bleeding them and replacing the fluid with ATE Super Blue race fluid, I have the same feel of the pedal. So that leads me to believe that it's just my pads and I'm not used to the way they "normally" feel after repeatedly destroying them on the track to slow the car down from 120mph to 40mph or so lol. Late braking on street pads doesn't help.
I like the look. Yellow is my favorite corvette color. You cant beat a C5 Z06 for the price used now and the performace. It is really unmatched.

Love running at Lime Rock, been up there too many times to count over the years with all sorts of fun rides. Have done a number of events, mostly the Porsche club ones scaring the hell out of some friends in their P cars. Lemme know when you guys are gonna head up there, get a 6speed meet on the drive up. The back roads leading up there have hosted some serious runs.
Which one? The Charlotte or Charleston one? I went to the Charlotte one a year ago I think (or was it sooner than that?) and the last Charleston one. I think the last Charlotte one I didn't go to..
Ah ok, did you see me there? If you went to the one I did I was parked under the bleacher area (in the shade and dry) with Metrolina Corvettes.
I come up there on occasion for autox's and have been meaning to go to the cars.
