Volks TE37 Questions

I posted this on the 996 board. Just want to see if anyone has the 9" ET 46 front wheels.

Are you asking if they will fit?

I checked the offsets and I am pretty sure they'll fit. This is based off of an 8" ET50 rim being coupled with 15mm spacers and the wheel coming out flush with the front fender. I think it may extend past the fender by a mm. This is all just theory so I wanted some real world application.

Yes, they should fit just fine. Brake clearance wont be an issue, and as far as lining up with the fender, it will be close. Are you putting them on your C2?

Yes, these will be on my 996c2. I'm in the process of buying te37s (8.5" F and 11" R) now but the set will have 8.5" fronts. I'm seriously considering moving up to the 9" fronts thus all my questions. My goal would be having the the option to run 265s up front. Not saying I'd do that but I would like the option since quite a few tire manufacturers carry 265s and higher but only have 225 or 235 options for the front.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I'm going to have to pass though. The 19s are a little heavier and I don't think there are enough tires to choose from in that size yet. Also, I don't think the 19s come with a 9" front option. Lastly and most importantly, the rears are in widebody offsets.

Did some research and found this info on the TE37s for anyone interested.

TE37
18x8.5 18lbs
18x9 front 18.5lbs (estimated)
18x10 rear 19.5lbs
18x11 rear 20.5lbs
19X8.5 20lbs
19X11 21.5lbs

Here are the specs on the Champion RG5 (one of the lightest out there for regular street/track use) for a comparison. They are much more expensive.

RG5
18x8 front 18.5lbs
18x8.5 front 19 lbs 2 oz.front
18x10 rear 19.5lbs
18x11 rear 19lbs 9 oz.

CCWs C10s The price is quite comparable to the Volks. They look arguably better than the TE37 but that is purely subjective.

c10 (estimated as they have not been officially released yet.)
18x9 Front 19.4lbs
18x11 rears 20.6lbs.

Hopefully someone will beat me to the 9" TE37 fronts and let me know how they are

I have another question that came to mind. I know the Porsche center caps won't work on these wheels, but I heard that the standard Porsche lug nuts may not work as well. Can anyone that knows if the lug nuts will or won't work chime in?

Caps wont work, but its hard to say if the lugs will work or not, just hafta try them. It varies from wheel to wheel.
