Silly questions; Do the new seats use the stock sliders? And what kind of roll bar are you putting in?

The seats are relatively straight forward to install. You need a torx socket, but I can't recall the size. Obviously, you will need to get the airbag lights shut off afterward. The best reference is on the install section of rennlist. There is a guide on putting the seats in a 996. The process is nearly the same. Sorry, but I can't help you on the rollbar install.

I just did this job and I will give you a few hints, if I can. First the install guides from Rennlist http://gallery.rennlist.com/gallery/album125

http://gallery.rennlist.com/gallery/albuq24

The DIY are excellent except this is not covered clearly. before you install the bar, after you set in in place. you have to cut the plastic under the carpet on the outboard rocker panels so the bar will drop in place without being forced. this is important because one of the biggest challenge is getting the bolts started with out cross threading.
I also removed the back carpet so I could see and remove the tape that covers the rear bolt holes: see below
Lastly, take off the rear view mirror before you start, better than busting it off, and disconnect the bat.

End result is worth it. It took me about 5 hrs to do seats, bar, belts.

-If I disconnect the batt the airbags will still turn on ?
-I hope my car has the metal plates to att the roll bar.
