Z06 faster than 997tt???

Who's faster? Any real world experiences??? I ran one on the highway today and was really surprised at how fast it was, my Turbo has ECU, intake, exhaust - not sure what he had done, but it didn't sound stock...He pulled half a car on me from 40-100...

A 997TT with ECU, exhaust should have been able to take a stock Z06. A stock Z06 would pull on a stock 997TT. But both cars modified? It depends who has the deeper pocket book.

Money doesn't have anything to do with this thread. Everyone already knows the Vette costs less

40 -100 is like arm wresling where position and leverage can tilt an advantage to either . If he got you on the snap --it's bye bye --even with a rolling start .

In any type of competition play back the entire race. You may get beaten again but you won't doubt the loss.

between 30-130 the Z06 is faster by a good margin. Your mods made it about even, so multiple races could have ended up in different results.

Did either car have a passenger?

Real world experiences, stock for stock even with a worst driver, the 997TT is still faster.
When we rented the drag strip last time, we had a 997TT driver with a stock car run 11.5-11.7 consistently, his first time ever at the track. There were no stock Z06's running below 12.0 with expereinced drivers behind the wheel.

dragstrip might be a different story as the holeshot would determine the race. but from a highway roll, the a stock z06 is slightly faster than a stock 997 turbo. i have owned both and run them together on multiple occasions. with mods is a different story and depends on what mods, but certainly the z06 is no slouch.

Hmmm, there are many videos of stock Z's pulling on stock 997's....

0-60, quarter mile, 0-100mph are probably all dependent on driver skill...I think that's one of the several reasons why power brake launching a Tiptronic is so successful (not to mention holding boost pressure prior to launching.)

Anything from a roll will probably show the true performance of a car...no more advantages to power brake launching, disadvantage to wheel spin, etc. It's all about power, weight, and eliminates most driver skill advantages. That being said...a stock Z06 is definitively faster than a stock 997TT from a roll.

The 997TT has greater traction from a start doesn't it? My gripe with the C5 Corvettes at least were traction in a drag. I've never driven a C6 Z06,

Anyways, I am not sure if this was featured on 6Speed (I am kinda sure it was), but for sake of this topic, here are vids and results of a competition 2 years ago between the C6Z06, BMW M6, modded M5, Ferrari F430 (modded?), Lamborghini Gallardo, 997 Turbo, and other porsches...

Check out the results of the C6 ZO6, especially against the Ferrari F430.
