997 ipod & Bluetooth product
997 ipod & Bluetooth product
I just had a Mobridge Most Bluetooth & iPod product professionally installed in my 2007 TT. I am very impressed with how it works - it's as if it came with car only with the latest technology. Both work through steering wheel buttons if you have them (I don't).
The Bluetooth uses a small two headed microphone with background noise reducer mounted at the top of the windshield by the rear mirror - you can hardly see it and there are no visible wires. It works through you stereo-nav system just like an OEM product. It automatically links and updates your phone numbers each time you get in the car. It mutes the stereo or whatever if a call comes in and what I like is you can keep the sound system turn off and if you get a call it automatically turns in on to link you with the call. All info, such as phone book, missed calls, favorite numbers etc. are readily displayed on the stereo-nav screen. The only limitation I've found is that you can't voice dial. Call sound is extremely clear.
The iPod interface works as well and through the stereo-nav system. You can basically use it as if you are just using the iPod itself. It just turns on when you turn the ignition on and you're ready to play songs, play lists, search by album, artist, genre etc. Your single CD player still works as before. I had my iPod hook up put in my glove box but you can have it elsewhere. It also includes an extra male plug for hooking up non-iPod products.
I highly recommend this product. It was about $1500 professionally installed and another $150 to have the error code cleared (so it doesn't look for the stock default).
Anyone else tried this product? I'm almost tempted to upgrade the sound system but it's big bucks and adds a bit of weight - my exhaust is still my favorite sound.

You're right
I originally was going to do it in stages to save money but it actually costs quite a bit more to do it this way due to labor and what's involved with the complex wiring.
Hope you can swing it in the not too distant future.

Just had it installed last week. Bluetooth works great but my only complaint is that the ipod cable is just that and does not work with my iphone. I have inquired if there is a newer system that works with an iphone since that is my ipod. I also had a iphone mount installed just to the right of the center console for use of my dynolicious app (which is amazing) which I would like to hardwire the mount to the cable to play my music when it is in the cradle

Duane996TT - I see your from SD (lucky guy). I'm driving down next week from Canada to enjoy your part of the world for a few months. Hope there is no "June gloom"!
On my Dension Gateway 500 (iPod) paired with the NavTV Tooki, I can initiate calls from my BlackBerry and the car will pick up the call via bluetooth.
Could those with Dension confirm that this is true for other brands of cell phone as well? TIA.
I was thinking about installing Dension, but if this is the case I'll go with something else.
I was trying to purchase a denison unit, but they are allegedly on back order until June. Grrrr..... Does this really not work with the iphone? I just want the ipod function, and could care less about the bluetooth.

I thought all they do is disable the changer electronically?Could you please comment on the sound quality? A friend has Tooki and the sound quality is only ok when he calls me from his car. Thanks in advance.
