Dyno of 997TT Fabspeed + Vivid Racing

We had a local 997 Turbo customer that came up to the dyno to run his car. Equipped with the Fabspeed exhaust and headers, we added our Softronic ECU Flash for him. The car put down an impressive 477awhp on 91octane and 532ft/lbs of torque on the best of 2 runs. Typically, our Mustang Dyno baselines a 997TT 6speed at about 370awhp. So the results are good showing 100HP gain with flash and exhaust.

The aforementioned car is mine. I just wanted to chime in for those of you that don't have the oportunity to see Vivid's operation in person.

I anticipated a shop that was basically a reseller with minimal install/build work going on. I was surprised to see the extend of actual hands on install and development that is occurring at this shop. Although the parts resell operation is huge, I believe they had six lifts and quite a few cars undergoing significant transformations. Everyone I spoke with was extremely polite and professional and treated my car with care. Dan listened to me regarding my goals for the car and didn't attempt to sell me anything that wouldn't benefit me, actually, he explained why quite a few things wouldn't be worth buying, considering my uses.

The head mechanic, Jeff, was very knowledgeable of Porsches, to the point I will be bringing my car to Vivid versus getting work done at the Tucson dealer for any major service I need to do.

To be honest, I haven't driven any other modded 997's so I can only comment on my car. The car is definately quite a bit quicker, puts down good, predicatable power, and I haven't had any drivability issues. I daily drive it so this was critical for me. Overall I'm very happen with the Softronic product and the service Vivid offers.

Good to hear a positive review. I ordered a few parts from them before and everything went smooth.

I have the same setup (Exhaust + Softronic) and absolutely love it .... First time out was scary and I still think I shoul've been warned beforehand ....

Also, noticable differences in the 91 to 93 to race maps .... Race gas will slip the stock clutch .... Yet to test the 3 settings with the PBox ...

Now I also have the IPD competition and gt3 TB .... It made the car run perfect ....

That's a pretty typical gain for a ecu/exhaust upgrade. Nice curve. Be sure all the readiness codes are turned on after the flash or state inspections will be a hassle.

David,
Good to hear a positive review and also great in the fact that we have Vivid and EVOMS here in AZ. I just sold my 2008 M3 and picked up a 2007 turbo that should hopefully be here within a few weeks. I am in Oro Valley so let me know if you want to meet up sometime! I would love to check out your car. I have a good small group of BMW buddies and we meet up every Thursday. Let me know if you would be interested in coming to our gtg's!
