Turbo or Turbo S

I am looking to purchase a Turbo/S. Found a Turbo in the color I like. I am torn if I should spend the additional approx. $20,000.00 for a Turbo S
Will I forever regret not to have bought the S
Any considerable power differences in sprited road driving between the the two? Any input appreciated.

Turbo S is a monster. If I had the extra 20K AND by this I mean, I would've spent it on women, drugs and rock and roll, THEN I would get the Turbo S. If you are like most gear heads here and you vouch for the 6SP then the "regular" Turbo will be your only choice.

If it was me with the extra 20K then the S is a no-brainer. I love PDK and all the "automatic" feel to it.

Just my stupid hands typing away.

Ha, check my post that I just slightly revived- Im in the same boat. Most say you can do a tune to get to the S level if not even higher. The S just has more boost right?? It doesnt have any other engine mods that make it better? I know about the standard options it gets but enginewise its the same with the boost change.

The s is rated at only 30hp more, but most dynos are showing a lot more, plus you get the pccb's and the pdk. S if you can swing it.

I've heard the difference in HP is just chip mod. For $2K, you can get the 30HP and still keep the 6-speed and steel brakes. I think the PDK could get old after a couple months, but maybe not

I honestly wouldn't buy a PDK turbo S right now. I realize the performance advantage to having the computer work the clutch for me but there is a bit of ho hum. I drove an SMG M5 for 3 years (i know..2 diff cars and trannys) but there's nothing like a 6 speed 911 Twin Turbo...at least for me.

One more vote here for the 6 speed, it's a sports car, row some gears!

Coming from 2 manual Carreras and now owning a PDK Turbo S, you won't miss the manual a bit. I missed it for about a week and then realized I was having more fun with the PDK and speeding. No more missed shifts, nor worries about over-revs, etc... Just the fastest, most precise shifting possible!

I suggest you price out the turbo with all the options you want and then compare the price to the S. The difference in price may shrink substantially. I went with the S and happy I did. The power, acceleration, torque, handling and comfort are unbelievable. The ceramic brakes are worth every penny. They are both insane machines and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with either one.

If that AMG SL65 Black in your avatar is yours, I'd skip both turbos and keep the AMG.

Personally I love being involved in a car via shifting, so my vote is, go for the TT.
