Exhaust install, what else?

Installing an EP system on my 08 in a few weeks and while I got her apart a bit I want to know what you guys reccomend getting done as well. BRVs, plugs, underdrive pulley, drop in filter, etc etc...

Was seriously thinking about .2 intercoolers. Planning on getting a flash soon (probably APR) and hear this tune really pushes the stock VTGs. The car is my DD with 16K miles, not trying to do anything major like upgrade turbos(yet).

My $0.02.
1. Identify where you want to end up.
2. Identify a tuner who can get you there and who sells that product.
3. Stick with one package and they will tell you what to add next even if you don't want to make the $$ commitment all at once.
4. Work incrementally from there.

Do not add a part from "here" and then one from "there". This stuff works much better when it's engineered to be used together. Build a relationship with a shop - they will take care of you if you come across as being an "annuity".......more $$ in the future.

Do your homework - go with a package from a reputable tuner........Best,

I'm just looking to do a few bolt-ons right now, no 700HP monster in my future. These packages seem to be way overpriced when alot of guys running bolt-ons from here and there, and are getting close performance benefits for much less money. I don't live anywhere near any tuners. I've heard good things about the pomo tune - does it work the same way as softronic?

I'm sorry I thought when I asked about specific, simple bolt ons while I have the exhaust off, that meant I was actually asking for specific, simple bolt ons that would be beneficial while I have the exhaust off.

I am going to change my plugs, oil and maybe transmission fluid when I do my exhaust in the spring. I am also going to get a tune as I'm going catless.

An EP2 and a computer loaded with a program to download APR software will be at the house tomorrow. I know a lot of people are still curious about this tune, and it seems like this combo is really good. I'll let you guys know how good it is.

While you swap out the entire exhaust it would be a good time to do plugs since you have to take off the turbos or at least the cats and you will need the 2 step colder plug for the tune gapped at .025.

The stock clutch will not last long with you running the 93 tune hard or the race tune at all!

APR is top notch!

We'll see how she runs with the stock plugs with 16k on them. I know the tune substantially shortens the life of plugs, but there seems to be a lot of discussion on what type of plug to use. I've even read how someone was told that proto recommended a colder type of plug, then in the same thread how someone was told that proto recommended the stock plugs at .025...

It would be convenient to do it all at once, however I simply don't have the time right now. Seems to be more than a few bone stock APR cars running fine, but it is something I want to do I'm the near future. She's a tip, so should be able to handle the tune and exhaust.

Pretty excited about it. It's still hard for me to believe a program and exhaust can add 100hp and a even more torque, but seeing will be believing very soon.
