Brake Pads

Has anyone found a better than oem brake pad for the track that still offers acceptable street performance - as in little to no squealing? Thanks,

Hawk DTC-60s or 70s. I just got back from VIR north course in 117 degree heat index with zero brake issues. I also use ProSpeed 683 fluid.

Mine squeal a lot in the stop and go traffic, with light braking. I need to brake hard 2 or 3 times to make the squealing go away.

I like how they perform and i would also recommend them over the stock pads.

A better brake fluid with higher boiling temperature is always recommended. Also some stainless steel braided brake lines.

I use Castrol SRF and Goodridge brake lines

Thanks. Glad to help

Add front and rear 2 piece floating rotors to reduce unsprung weight and you will have the best upgrade for the stock callipers

thanks for the advise ,

well to be honest am not track guy , i drive my car as DD and i like the stock brake pads , rotors !! but since am running 825hp package and i like inline street races its good to upgrade the susp and brake system , so am doing it step by step , as the susp i did eibach lowering kit and the car felt more steady in high speed , as well as i did 20mm spacers for the rear wheels only since am running 30/295 tires it will be good and not harm the dif

now for the brake system i may do the pads still not sure which one to get , brake lines and brake fluid !!!

i would like to keep my car DD and not hard to drive

With the 2 piece rotors you reduce more than 1Kg per rotor. Good for any type of racing

Agreed You have to remove the squeal shims or the pads won't fit. These suckers squeal like a banshee and shed brake dust like crazy. Unfortunate consequences of better initial bite and fade resistance.

If your just running street races/drags, I'd stick with the OEM pads. They're perfectly fine for that.
