Anyone come across this before????

Hi guys,,

Few days ago I had a stage one tune from a reputable source here in U.K. Gains of 50-60 bhp and 100 tq .

Although I've got lots more power which I'm really happy with. The problem is every time I start my car the revs hold at 2000rpm, I then need to turn engine off and restart then all is well...... This didn't used to happen before the tune.

Rang the tuning company he said they will send someone out to do some tweaks to my car.

What I want to know off you guys is. Is this normal?? Should I let them tweak the map?? Or should I just tell them to remove the tune and go with another company??

Regards

Normally there shouldn't be any more tweak related with Idle on a completely stock car.

This happened just after the software re-map ?

Yes straight after tune.
Now they've put a different map on it. And its still causing the same problem.

Also after the second map at idle car is idling at 800rpm. Think they have lowered initial idle speed altogether.

Still not normal.

There is no need to play with Idle settings.

Go back to stock, I bet the way they get the power is by leaning out the car which is not good for the motor at all. Go back to stock and go with a reputable tuner that knows what they are doing. GIAC, TPC Racing, etc. etc.

Good luck.

Could be a vacuum leak.

I doubt its a vacum leak seeing as the problem started from first start up after tune,
It only sticks at 2000rpm on cold start. On warm start its fine.

I've had them put stock map on, just waiting for few hours to let engine cool down so I can test it.

Regards
