Do any crazies run 18's on 997TTs?

I suspect if anyone does, it's probably the track guys and they do it for tire costs. However, how does it look and how does the car ride and behave differently with 18s? I do admit to liking the ride on my 996TT with 18s and I have intentionally avoided 19s through the years as an upgrade option. I also love how lightweight 18s can be, even in the wide sizes required by a widebody 996.

Before anyone panics about my curiosity, I realize the 997TT was engineered with 19s and I'm only curious about experience of those who have done it and why. And of course how it looks. I fully realize and appreciate that a set of 18s might look ridiculous on a 997TT...but would love to see if it has been done. Thanks all.

It's doable from what i've seen here but brake clearance is an issue from what i remember.

You know, after I posted my original question I was actually sitting here thinking about the brake clearance. I suspect you'd have to be pretty selective with wheel fitment and offset to clear the factory 997TT front brakes, and that would obviously be a really huge deal. Thanks for your reply.

jpw2b is infamous around these parts
As you surmised, I do it all the time for the track. But I also run 18 s all winter with winter tires. I have no issues with brake clearance using oem turbo twist wheels.

No problem whatsoever. That's what I run, and as I'm lazy I still sometimes drive on slicks or R compounds on the streets.

Looks good to me

I was almost doing the same as this member. IMO, the car looks so good... just needed a drop to be perfect.
