Porsche Aeroforce OBD2 A/F, Boost Gauge. AWESOME!!!
Porsche Aeroforce OBD2 A/F, Boost Gauge. AWESOME!!!
Hey all,
When I had my Built SRT8 Jeep I had awesome Aeroforce gauges. They plug directly into the OBD2 port. You can select any PID that the car supports to display on the gauge. This is super cool!!! A/F, Boost, Timing, Load, etc. I got in touch with the Aeroforce guys a few months ago to have them get a working gauge for Porsches. I installed the gauge today in my 997.2 Turbo where the sport chrono clock was. This install took around 45 minutes while taking pictures. I did a short drive to give you guys an idea on what this gauge actually does. I am not associated with Aeroforce at all. I just wanted something with this functionality with out the need for extra hardware, line, o2 Bugs and Aeroforce made this happen. Super psyched on this!!!

The Sport Chrono clock requires some force to lift.

Remove the 4 screws with a H10 hex bit

There are 4 small holes around the outside of the clock that have screws with allen key heads holding in the clock. These need to be removed to pull the clock out of the assembly. BE SUPER CAREFUL to not pull on the clock. It will knock the hands off. they are a PITA to get back on. I ended up taping the clear lens over the hands for storage.

Don't use the U bracket with the kit to install the gauge. The 4 allen key screws that were used to hold the sport chrono clock are enough to secure the new gauge.

I dropped a wire down from the top where the sport chrono clock was installed. Looked under the dash by the gas pedal and the wire was bunched up there. I connected the Aeroforce OBD2 line to that and pulled back up through the hole. This was the hardest part of the entire job and it took about 2 minutes.

Here is the gauge installed. This thing is seriously awesome for this car since the computer does A/F and Boost. No extra hardware is required for this to work!!!

The Turbo has a wideband O2 sensor from the factory? If so, that's cool and I didn't realize that. If not, the O2 reading would be essentially worthless. Cool minimally invasive mod nonetheless.
The car has factory wideband o2. My A/F and boost are dead on from the logs I sent for my tune.
The single gauge is $250. They sell a dual gauge setup with an OBD2 splitter, however I have not tested it on my car but I'm sure it works. I'd imagine they will have it on their site soon. You may be able to get it by emailing them. Try them at sales@aeroforcetech.com
Hands down the best money I've spent on the Porsche.
The gauge has SO many more features/modes. I'll update this thread next weekend when I take the car out.

Nice install and notes. I like the chrono replacement and looked into gages in the past. PLX Devices has a similar unit.
I use a bluetooth ELM327 device plugged in to the OBD port and run Torque on my Note3 to get and display the same data.

That seems to be the case with the 07 (maybe 07 to 09). I spoke with AZTurbo and he needed the additional sensor. I personally have it installed on my 2010 turbo and tested on my buddies 2011 turbo. The boost and all other functions display correctly.
Get a hold of me, I am selling mine with the sensor which I have not installed yet. I have not listed it but decided to sell it today.
