In center console, use AUX port which plugs into your phone Headphone jack. Chose AUX in PCM as source and music will play through speakers. That's the easy way.

Porsche makes a proprietary plug that connects to the USB and the iPod connector and then the iPod or iPhone itself. Suncoast has then. I bought mine for $35 delivered from eBay.

hmm, the issue is, I cant find AUX input socket According to owner's manual it's supposed to be hidden in the box between the seats, but it's not there.

You have a 2009 right? It should be in the center compartment just behind where the ashtray is. Should be writing. You need the actual plug though.

can take a picture of your center console open and post it? Odd that it wouldn't be there. I also have an 09' turbo and it's there.

It's 09 MY, however production is end of 2008. In the center compartment I have only AV socket, no AUX. I will make photo and post later.

it was an option.... sad but true... I found out the hard way too went I picked up my 09.

You can order it and have it installed. The best price I could find is here Universal Audio Interface (99704490234) $336.24. Dealer will probably charge a couple of hrs for install, even though it should take about 45mins at most.

and the sound is horrible! unless my 08 is different. it goes through an fm modulator , a weak one at that. full of static and you have to crank it to hear a song. poor sound quality , and im no audiophile. nissan xterra sounds like a concert hall by comparison.

Correct - the PCM3 the universal audio is hardwired and supports iPod controls via PCM. With the AUX input you cannot control or charge the device and the sound is not as good, but on the plus side you don't need the expensive proprietary cables/adapters.

It is different. Although the 09 is a .1, it did receive the updated interior of .2, which included the updated PCM3.0, from the older PCM2.1. You are correct that with the 08 (PCM2.1) the aux/iPhone was FM modulated, but that is not the case with the PCM3.0
