Another new record?

Customer just sent this over to me via text message.

Unfortunately (as you can see in the pic) he didn't have a memory card in the Vbox so nothing was recorded.

Car is a 997.2 PDK Turbo S with out full CMS package with 68mm VTG's and Aquamist HFS-4 V3. This was the only run he got a pic of...but he promised me it went well below 6 a few times too. I'll post more updates as I get them...

Congrats Tom. So the Aquamist does with the 997.2 then... are you offering a bolt on kit for the 997.2 guys?

BTW FWIW the peak Gs at 0.7 look very low for a verifiable 60 to 130 mph run in 6.ox seconds... I am pulling near 1g in some gear doing low 7.xx

I also have pics of my vbox where satellites dropped out showing a 2.9 second 0 to 60 mph in my 6MT car, just saying I do not believe your client until he shows a vbox verify, then again it is possible in a PDK with max near 0.7, but not probable

I think sometimes the pbox gets confused or something. I've been driving around town and the peak Gs are over 1g. I would say peak G of 0.7 with a broad torque band (i.e. Gs stay high over a long period) is definitely good for 6.X time. Other cars with low 5s have 0.9g. Perhaps in 1st gear you could pull high G acceleration but not likely in 3rd or 4th gear.

The car has the following parts on it:
  1. Champion 68mm VTG Turbos
  2. Tubi Race Exhaust
  3. Champion Headers
  4. Champion Intercoolers
  5. Werks1 Y-Pipe
  6. IPD Plenum
  7. BMC Filter
  8. GIAC Software
  9. Aquamist Injection running 70/30 meth/water mixture
Last time we had the car here on the dyno it left here making 656whp/650wtq. During the tuning, we had it running as high as 700whp but decided that was a bit more then we're comfortable running with stock engine internals, so it was turned down a bit to a safer level.

I knew that there would be skeptics as soon as I posted the info, there always is when we achieve something like this. As soon as the customer sends me some more info I'll be happy to post it.

If you're in the tri-state NY/NJ/CT area....just watch out for a caged silver Turbo S running BBS lightweight wheels...it might surprise you.

Tom, were the dyno numbers from a Mustang or a Dynojet? AWD?

We've been using vboxtools.com for a while now as a great site to insta-verify pbox results. Just FYI in case you'd like to pass this on to your customer for reference. Really easy to use.

We run on both...our in-house dynojet and a Mustang that we rent out. Initially when we started tuning the car, we found out that numbers were within +/- 10whp whether it was on the Dynojet or the Mustang, so once we established that baseline, we've only used our Dynojet going forward. We're not really concerned with the overall hp number, but more with the delta between changes we make anyway.

Thanks for the tip on the vboxtools.com site. I'll pass it along, but honestly I doubt he'll ever use it. He's not one of those guys that really reads the forums or brags too much about what the car's doing. He just uses the Vbox so he can see the results for himself and know what the car is doing. I've BEGGED him to start recording some of these runs on the SD card so I can start getting them verified...so hopefully I'll have some of those runs to post soon.
