Bosch vs OEM 3.8bar FPR
Bosch vs OEM 3.8bar FPR
I did a search and can't find any info to say if there is a difference between the Bosch branded 3.8bar FPR and the Porsche OEM version. I presume they are both made by Bosch and perhaps the 3-fold difference in price is Porsche tax, or is there actually a difference?
While changing my injectors etc... I asked the shop to swap my 5bar fpr back to the stock one but I was just informed that the stock one has a small tear in the mesh screen. Must have happened when another shop did the original switch. Unfortunately it looks like the current shop is ready to put the engine back in so I may just keep the 5 bar fpr.

Asher, your car is running smooth with the 5bar and ID1000s as of 30mins ago with fueling on target
Zee says it'll be ready tomorrow. I'll drop by there tomorrow as well and check fueling at WOT and cruise for ya as he still needed to bleed the clutch and I could only check it at idle.

great, thanks!
We were fuel-limited on stock injectors even with the 5 bar fpr so I bought the Cobb 1k injectors. It made sense to drop the engine to put the injectors in and get the coolant lines pinned at the same time. I was told that some of my coolant lines were loose and "sweating" a little so it looks like my timing was right.
The tune can be adjusted for either fpr, I was just trying to figure out why the OEM was 3 times the price of the Bosch-labeled part.

I just picked up my car - I will update my other thread later.
There was a small tear in the mesh screen so we decided not to use it - probably happened if the other shop used a screwdriver to pry it out.
anyway, the part number on it is 0 280 160 689 which is a Bosch part number so I've answered my own question, lol.

I had them pinned. I was told a couple were already coming loose so they took those ones apart, cleaned them off, re-epoxied them and reinserted them followed by pins. I also changed the 3 elbows that Sharky sells (for $$ unfortunately).
I don't know - but maybe give Zee at Boost Theory in Mississauga a call and ask him.
