Thumbs up 875whp 700wtq - GTX3076 997.1 Turbo - proTUNING Freaks

Thought we'd share some results from last night's tuning session. This 997.1 Turbo was brought to our friend's at Boost Theory in Mississauga for some custom fab work a while back.

Along with some exterior aesthetic changes the car received a custom 3" x-pipe exhaust, manifolds with Tial external wastegates that fit with GTX3076 turbos, 3.5" intercoolers, custom y-pipe with Tial BOVs, ID1000 injectors and a Sachs 2.5 clutch. Stock plenum and throttle body are still on the car.

Dyno for this particular car was at DL Motorsports who have just a single roller Dynojet so the front driveshaft was removed as per usual. All of the tuning on our shop's 997.1 Turbo was on an AWD Mustang that reads much lower than Dynojets as mentioned in our past threads so we were really curious what a Dynojet would end up showing.

Our tuning was done via Cobb Accessport and an external boost controller. Initially we did just some relatively mild tuning on our pump gas and got to 650whp at 17-17.5psi peak after which we moved to race gas.

Tires started to have serious traction issues. We asked a friendly 260lb bystander to have a seat in the rear for our final runs and finally had tires hooking up with the roller all the way through the RPM band making 100wtq in midrange over previous runs

Check out the final pull on our Instagram feed. This car has more left in it but we're keeping it here for now as we've found motor internals to hold up without any issues on our shop car for thousands of miles of test/tune at very similar power/torque levels and tuning that we essentially replicated here on race gas while we've done ours on pump gas+meth.

Nice!
So how do you compare it with A3076?

Thank you. Hard to tell a difference from A3076s, definitely both thumbs up. Advantage to A3076s is no need for a custom exhaust manifold and wastegates/plumbing. This car runs open dumps off the wastegates, sounds beastly

Left me wondering where numbers would've landed with the 82mm throttle body/plenum...

Nice results and sleeper. Would be curious to see trap speed of this car. Surely would be in the 140's I would think.

Thank you. Definitely a 140+ car with a good driver. In this RWD setup it'd probably be in the high 140s with good track prep and traction.

Its actually had no issues holding more. Our shop car was putting down 680awtq on a Mustang AWD which is more than 700rwtq on this Dynojet.

E85 stock turbo and upgraded VTG cars can hit 700 wtq with ease. No clutch issues with the 2.5 on my or any other car I know of. The local upgraded VTG car actually made as much as 780 wtq during tuning with a bit too much boost in the midrange

Congrats!
Have you some times like 100-200 or 60-130 with this car?

I ignore how much power and torque I did at this point but my Sachs 2,5 started to slip when my 100-200 went under 4,3' and the 60-130 under 5'.

Cheers,
P.

Yea not a bad clutch for these torque levels. I'm sure it won't stand up much of a beating at the drag strip

No vbox times for this car unfortunately. This customer doesn't own a vbox and for him even pump gas on wastegate was plenty already but he wanted to see what we could do with race gas and we did a demonstrated the powa!

What torque were you pushing when your 2.5 started to slip and were you doing any launches and/or NLS prior?

I never launched any single time, my best 0-100 (kph) is about 4,5' on my Vbox times... (0-300)
My pleasure is not at all from a dig, only rolling starts.
The Sachs begans to slip when WOT in 4rth gear and upper gears, as I said, I ignore the torque. (Maybe a little more 1000Nm IMO)
