M3 Maestro's 997.1 Turbo build
M3 Maestro's 997.1 Turbo build
Like other members I figured I would start my own build thread to share progress on my car. This is my first Porsche, previous cars have been E36 M3, E46 M3, and E92 M3. Instead of jumping to the F80 M3, I decided to try to find a 997 turbo which has always been a goal of mine. Recently found and purchased a 2008 midnight blue turbo. Below are some pics, nothing great just iPhone pics.
First step was full paint correction, detail, replace some film protection with Xpel and sealed paint with CQuartz. Tim and his team from Knox Detailing did the work on it, the pictures don't do their work justice. I am very pleased with the results. Highly recommended. They are located in Knoxville, TN.
Next steps will be new brakes all four corners, Eibach springs with Bilstein B8 Sport shocks, and Kline 70mm Exhaust. I'll post new pictures as parts come in and get installed.

Exhaust will probably get installed over Easter weekend as I have free time.
Car has 73k miles. Not bad condition for its age and miles
. Goes to show if you take care of your stuff it will last. That is why step one was bring the paint to best possible condition and seal it. Now the hard part is to maintain it lol.

Nice congrats.
Good choice passing on the F80 and going with the 997. I leased a 2013 e92 M3 and after test driving the F80 I passed on it and just bought my e92 out of its lease. Didn't like the F80 at all.

Good call sorting the paint first, these cars deserve the protection. I have a 14k mile car that I thought was perfect until I had the paint corrected and sealed with a ceramic coating. I swear the thing looks better than it did when it rolled off the assembly line.
Very happy with the paint correction and detail work, would recommend it to anyone thinking about it. CQuartz should last at least 2 years, I only drive the car 6 months out of the year. Once its time to refresh it I will do it again.
