Price Check

Hello everyone,

Looking at a 2011 Turbo S with 14,200 miles.
Basalt metallic black exterior
black top
tan 2-tone interior
1 owner
almost new Pirelli tires

msrp: 177,800

Porsche Dealer Sales price: $95k
Price includes CPO for 2 yrs, basic perma plate & phantom footprints

Price seems fair. Any opinions about price?

Thanks!

Assume this is a cab. Very fair given mileage. Still check for paint work.

Yes, a cabriolet.

I checked for paint work. All edges super smooth. Except for a random section on the driver door at the bottom center. About a 1 inch section that felt rough. Everything else, smooth.

From what I have heard and dealt with about the dealer I think you are going to here in Houston. You can get them to waive the perma plate and phantom fee BS. I just bought from them and I wish I knew that ahead of the game. You can google the perma plate BS. Once you to go to sign they will give you 2 years of "free" coverage because of those fees but they first try to upsell you on longer coverage. I ask for copies of the actual warranty and it doesn't cover much. Wheel/rim/tire must not be able to hold air for them to fix or replace. I don't know about you but I have seen some f***ed wheels that still hold air and I sure a hell would drive with it on my car.
Good luck.

Yes sir, Porsche of West Houston. I should be closing the deal this evening. They charge 259 and 497 for these coverages which are supposed to be part of their "Sonic Price." When I probed about the warranty coverage, salesman got squirrely. I already gave them a deposit and have completed most of the paperwork via phone. I'm expecting them to try and charge me these fees as a separate line item...at which point I will cause a ruckus. Thanks for the tips!

Perma plate? Phantom feet? Sonic price? What is all that non-sense? I've never heard of any of those things. I'm in Austin FYI.

"Perma plate" is a "coating" they say they put on the paint and interior surfaces. They will fix any "stains" to the paint or fabric but you read the fine print and you better have used their "special" cleaner first or you are screwed.
Phantom fee is the BS vin etch/sticker stuff they do to the body panels. They will "refund" your deductible or some such BS for a theft. Then again you have to prove aliens took your car on a Tuesday February 29th with a full moon.

It seem to be their way of giving you a lower price but backing in pure profits fees. I just bought a Cayenne turbo from them 2 weeks ago. I always negotiate final drive out price anyways. I was just confused/upset these were on there but I was happy with my final price.

Hello new toy

Just got back from Houston and unloaded the Turbo S and tucked it away until the morning!

Yes, I had this conversation too. The services and stickers were already on the car. Wasn't able to remove the fees...269 and 497. Very happy with overall deal and they bought me a second key and will reimburse for the programming. Apparently, they couldn't get the key in fast enough in Houston. So once it shows up, they will mail it to me and then I can go 1 of the dealers in Plano/Dallas. Since they picked up the tab for that, I let the fees go.

Final drive out price is what I care about most anyways....all is good!

You're lucky, at least you get "something" for the extra fees. Here in VA all dealers charge a "DMV processing fee" which can range from $299-799! It's not a registration requirement, it's a rip-off dealer profit center, it's usually non-negotiable, and it just irritates the cr-p out of me. If I see the posted fee and it's too high I'll walk out of the dealership, and I let them know why.

BTW, sorry for hijacking your thread, love the Turbo S, you made the right decision and congratulations on your purchase!
