2007 997TT Manual with Exhaust and Tune...Will it need a clutch?
I'm excited to pick up my car next week. The car will have simple mods on it. Exhaust, Tune (cobb), short throw. I don't plan on launching the car often but in the back of my mind i'm wondering if i'll need a clutch for the car.
With these mods is the stock unit good to hold the additional power? And if not what's the general consensus on a good clutch? The car will never make big power. but from what i'm told it should make in the mid 500's.
Thanks.

if you don't launch it stock can last for some time, if you launch it you will need a clutch very soon.

It also depends on how much power your car is making with the flash (canned vs custom). With 997.2 ICs, exhaust, and a custom flash, my car was making more power than the factory clutch with it's weak pressure plate could hold period. The factory clutch looked like new when I replaced it with the Sachs "2.5"
It is nice to see more and more GT-R guys with usernames from NAGTROC that I remember. The 911s are a totally different machine, and a lot more interesting, IMO.

With a VR Tune and exhaust my clutch was not able to hold the power from the first drive after the tune. The stock clutch only had 27k miles on it too. Launching wasn't the issue but I noticed a lot of slip when merging on the highway in 4th gear. I went with the Sachs 2.5 kit and all was right in the world again.
I blew my clutch by 8 k miles....if you drive exactly opposite of me you should be ok....but to be honest you should budget a clutch at some point...it's a shame not to be able to launch the car just a bit and have some fun...since upgrading to sachs 2.5...that presure plate can hold 800 lbs tq.....knowing your clutch can hold your power is lots of fun and your missing on big enjoyment if not upgraded..lets not talk about flywheel that's a whole another topic...

Depends on the tune and how you drive. Protomotive tune here and the first time I floored it in 5th to merge on the highway it slipped. Its life up until then was pretty tame. Regardless if you go with any E85 tune it stands no chance.
