i m really annoyed by a f**** creaking, rattling, squeaking noise from my front suspension.
it appears only when the car is warm, ( about 20 minutes ride) . No noise when its cold.
On my while turning at low speed , or when i park the car, it appears also when the car is stopped, and i turn the steering wheel
this noise came just after PSS10 installation ( i bought used b16, about 30mkms old).
then i asked my indy to check the installation , all i can say, is that seems to be correct, from that point.
then, We changed the Camber plates , and New Bilstein drop links...and no effect on the noise.
i put some grease on all bearings... no effect.
what can it be ?
1/coilover failure ? But no other noise while riding
2/ Top nut over torqued ? The indy said no
3/ shock bearing plate ( not the rubber one, but the metal ring)
4/ Sway Bar bushes
5/Lower control arm
6/ Tie rod end
the problem is , i already spent some significant amount, i would not want to replace all of these parts without any clue or evidence...
Check both control arms on each side for failing bushings. My money would be on this being the issue. Mine used to squeak when warm and going over bumps, found the outer bushing on an LCA was worn, boot split and so replaced both arms on each side (and got GT3 arms from Tarett).
Also replaced top mounts as bearings had worn and started squeaking on one side but guessing your camber plates mean that you've effectively done this already so shouldn't be an issue.
Yes , the top mount bearing and the camber plate are one part.
there is also another bearing ( i think it’s a shock bearing) just above the rubber bearing.... that can be an issue ?
i found some vids on YouTube , and it seems in most of the case, it’s coming from the LCA... but what I don’t understand, is that noise is just coming right after the bilstein installation...
I'd think it was due to being moved around in a way that hadn't happened before - it may have unsettled a bushing that means that metal/metal contact is happening on a surface that wasn't before.
To isolate the issue you could drive it around until it happens, then spray a small amount of WD40 on each bushing, driving between each spray to see if it goes away.
Don't forget drop links. I have read several posts on that being the reason for noise.

When the noise came i ve changed the used bilstein drop links with new one ( Bilstein) ... no effect on the noise.
to be sure its not coming from these DL ... how can I do? Is it possible to remove the DL and drive without ?
Actually , I m wondering if it’s normal when I turn the steering wheel , if I check the top mount nut, I can see the washer... and it seems do not be able to move on the right side ( where the noise is coming) ... although on the other side , I can see the washer turning ( maybe 1 or 2 mm) ...
not sure this is the issue ... is it suppose to move or not ?
Hi Tgvr6
I think I have the same issue on my turbo. It's quiet when the car is cold but after some driving I hear the noise at low speeds. Did you manage to fix the issue and what did you replace?
