That just confirms that the side intake from the 997 won;t fit the 996.

On the evolutionary scale, it appears that the 996 to 997 transition offers the smallest cosmetic changes

If you haven't seen them in a pic like this the 997 feels like a bastard child but now the evolution is obvious.

Anyone else feel that if we start from newest to oldest the cars get better looking ? Seeing it like this makes me realize how much more "special" and "exotic" looking older turbo's appeared to be.

 

I think the absence of the "whale fin" in the 996 is what makes the styling more subdued. The 993 is originally what drove me to buy the 02 turbo, but it blended in more then the turbos of the past. I still miss that car since I moved into the city.

 

i beg to differ. the two cars at the bottom are identical except for the wing which is slightly different
