Help: 997.1 TT Clutch Pedal dropped to the floor.
Help: 997.1 TT Clutch Pedal dropped to the floor.
Went to start my car, as I went to mash down the clutch pedal (cold start), the pedal dropped to the floor and when I use my fingers & raised it up and tried to pump it, it regains no pressure & stays on the floor. Thoughts?
My car is a fbo 997.1TT 6MT with stock clutch.
Appreciate the help... Val

when this happened to me it was actually my slave cylinder hydraulic hose that had failed. Jack the car up and remove the rearmost belly pan, you'll be able to inspect the hose.

Stock everything, accumulator was changed last year.
Couple of things I noticed snooping around today:
Ps reservoir was full, but I noticed pressure had built up when I unscrewed the cap to check level.
Clutch master reservoir was empty & residual pentocin fluid is prevalent in the galley. Cap for reservoir won't go back on like it has deformed. I'm wonder if cap was loose to begin with and as I drove the car from Jan till now... the loose cap caused fluid to leak out and eventually cause the tank to become empty?

I caught mine and changed it to a GT2 clutch slave setup before it failed, but from my research:
1. If the pedal gets stiff it;s the accumulator
2. if the pedal goes to the floor it's the slave
I have also read where the cap can longer be tightened ("Skipping a thread" was the comment) which may mean a new reservoir/cap. The other comment was if you replace the slave, replace the accumulator, but you have already done that. It looks like you have some clutch slave work to deal with.
