Durametric pro can’t communicate with tip ecu

I have an issue. Can’t get durametric pro to communicate with the tiptronic ecu. I pulled the fuse and see if the speedo would reset. Same thing, anyone else know what to do? I had this problem as it doesnt know the car went into park. Had the tip ecu fuse fell out while it was moving from 1 bay to another. Since then the tip ecu doesn’t think the car is in park and I can’t get the cluster to communicate with the tip ecu.

Disconnect the battery, let it "cool down" for abt 1/2 hour, reconnect the battery and try again. During cooldown period check all fuses.

Can it establish a connection with the Durametric to get any reading or does everything error out?

battery disconnect days at a time. I’ve went through fuses over 20 times now. Power probing every fuse for voltage over and over lol

So sequence of events was:

1. Drive the car and park it placing the transmission in park and "it doesnt know the car went into park" meaning the car rolls freely?
2. Also the information (selection of gears and display of PNRDM and the subsequent gears if you are in manual mode shows nothing, no back lit at all on any of the display positions no matter what spot your select lever is in?
3. After noticing the above you tried to use the Durametric to display what was happening with the TCU, and it failed and when checking the fuse, it just fell out.

Another question: Does the car drive at all anymore? If it does, does it exhibit any problems or unexpected behavior when shifting from one gear to another or is it hard to shift from P to N to D, etc?

Looking generically for TCU issues I came across this post:

From a Merc site:

Where a transmission went into limp mode due to a transmission oil leak that had damaged contacts on the TCU:
"if your TCU does not connect with the scan tool, more than likely is not communicating with your Conductor Plate either. You need to restore that communication again."

I have no idea what a conductor plate is (I will drive MT's until the pry the gear stick from my cold, dead hands - or they are no longer available, which will be sooner than later).

I found many other posts, but I could find no other (yet) that mentions not being able to communicate with a scan tool or not mentioning the transmission in limp mode as the main problem (which I did not read in your posts).

I'll keep looking, but you might want to get under the car and see if there is any signs of an oil leak.

Ed

No oil leak from trans, engine/trans was just out, I may have to drive it to see if it would shift. I have only pulled it around parking spots and back into garage. Would go to PRND and speedo would show what gear I’m in. Just the ecu doesn’t go in park when i put it in park so its holding the key hostage lol

Just out right before this happened, and I mean just before the symptoms? If so, who did the work and have you checked with them? If not, how long did it drive normally?

Have you checked the wiring harness going to the transmission or re-seated it?

You can get the key out with using the little pin tool in the fuse box. Insert in the hole next to the key.
