V8VS makes a creaking sound from rear driver side ONLY when cold?

Have a weird problem that my dealer was clueless to identify...

In cold whether and only when I first move the car (i.e. reverse down my driveway apron / go over a speed bump) I get a fairly loud creaking sound coming from behind me (LHD) driver's side.

It's like metal creaking or metal on rubber. After say a minute, the creaking goes away and it's smooth again. It does not do this in summer, only below about 65f.

I'm worried that the problem might get worse or something is dry and needs lubricating.

Anyone got an idea of what to check?

Something like this? https://aston1936.com/2018/08/11/rep...on-martin-db9/

I had this problem on my DB9. Changed the control arms and all was quiet.

Thanks - Maybe but I'm not getting any squeaking at all. It's just a deeper creaking and it's been a year and not getting worse. Unfortunately he lists the part on that blog as being $250 but his link now shows a price of over $1000 before tariffs so $2k with and that's too much for something that doesn't affect performance .

You can actually have the outer liners removed from the control arm bushings and then pressed back in. A shop did this for my vehicle and did both the front and rear for about $1500.

One man's squeak is another man's creak

I thought the cold weather symptom was the big clue.

I had that on my 13 Vantage for years, replaced rear upper control arm bushings with polyurethane ones, never heard again. OEM bushing has plastic case, they slide inside the arm bore.

You know, you're right. I just checked the videos from AM1936 and he does the rears too, and describes my problem to the letter.

Annoying becuase my car only has 8k miles on but its probably an age thing as much as it's a mileage thing.

Thanks, I saw the video from AM1936 and he does the bushing replacement. I'm thinking to do it myself. The bushings are only $250 and it's about 2 hours for both so I fancy having a crack rather than spending $1500.....
