Mods for 997TT?

Will it be possible to modify the 997TT to the same extent of the 996TT?

I recently read an article about the Ruf RT12 where they said that Ruf puts a modified 996 computer into the 997.

Just curious what the word on mods is - if any. Thanks.

The word on mods... well Bob the car isn't out yet so unless you are looking for someone with a crystal ball then I'd say you are going to have to wait just like the rest of us.

I'm curious to see how Porsche's VTG turbo's affect the tuners. Will they (tuners) modify the cars maintaining the VTG turbines or will we see them swaping out the new turbo's in favor of proven turbo setups that are currently in modified 996 turbos?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the RT12 was in fact a 996TT. The exterior was just modified to resemble the 997.

Wrong the Rt12 is a 997 that uses a 996 turbo motor.

It is a turbo and there will be mods. I can't think of a car that doesn't have some sort of aftermarket following. I am sure a tuner (Evo etc) will get these VTG turbos to push more boost and follow suit with everything else that comes along (exhaust, intake, DV's, internals etc). This time next year should be interesting........

The question will be is what size turbos will be on the 997TT K16 sized that max out at around 525 hp, or K24 sized 600 hp turbos. Once you pull those turbos out and swap them with another, they basically turn into a 996 TT again.

Im just hopping the aftermarket comes up with some bigger VTG type turbos. I would like one for my supra that can make 1000 rwhp and hit 30 psi by 3500 rpm or so.
