Who's driven Jeep SRT-8...
I know a couple of members have them here, I'm going to drive one Saturday. I'm mostly concerned with ride quality - is it too harsh? I don't want the ride of a Grand Marquis but I don't want the ride quality of a GT3 either. What car can you compare the ride to?
Also, who's done a winter setup on one? I'm pretty spoiled with the S4 and snow tires, I don't expect the SRT-8 to be as "nimble" but I assume that it does just fine with the right winter setup?

The ride quality isn't too harsh at all, but it does have a tendency to shift over irregular surface patterns. In other words, on less then decent roads the whole truck seems to shift position over larger bumps, which is annoying. I have also head that switching out the stock Goodyear runflats can make a difference in that, though. Other then that it handles and drives pretty damn well. My 60+ year old parents actually will drive mine for the month or so they spend out here each year and they love it. To me that speaks pretty well about the ride quality.
I left mine with the stock tire set-up all last winter, and although we didn't have much snow, still had no problem with it. You might check one of the Jeep forums for a little bit more info on that, though.
All in all, I think the Jeep is an incredible vehicle, even though I am selling mine, lol. But the off line acceleration is seriously addictive, it is fun to drive, has a little bit of utility and some decent standard features, and will get attention like nothing else I have ever driven. Judging by your list of cars, I think you will definitely enjoy it.

930chas,
Thanks for the input. I'm not looking for anything fancy, I want a decent truck that is fun to drive and I don't really want to give a **** about it. I don't need to tow things, I just want to fit 4-5 people, be able to haul **** around, have AWD for Chicago weather, and some creature comforts (satelite radio, nav, park sensors, etc). Jeep seems to fit the bill pretty well.

The ride quality is pretty good, although I'm comparing it to Range Rovers, Navigators, etc. I felt that it was very harsh over bigger bumps, especially the rear, who knows maybe it was just me. You also stated that you would carry 4 to 5 people, I found the back seats being a tad cramped depending on how large you are but if its just around town I wouldn't worry about it. The power is awesome and crazy addicting, whatever you do enjoy it!!!

That hasn't been confirmed yet, just speculation. I think you'd see the 6.4 in the Challenger SRT8 (if they call it that), before you see it in the GC and 300.
Marcus what are you doing??? First a Z06 now a Jeep SRT-8.......do your German friends know about this.....

its totally a different beast than a range rover a range rover is a little disconnected b/c of the whole off road type setup. While the srt8 is little bit tighter and more nimble. It does seem to not be as well balanced over bumps and not as smooth surface but i think if the tires were different that would change ALOT. But power wise and comfortablity I think it is one sweet ride.
If anything, you should at least get the 2008. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the darker color interior, new nav, and HID was.
I want it to take over my work commuting now that I am downtown so much. I don't want another Merc or Porsche, just something cheap and fun that I don't give a **** about. The Z06 is going bye bye for a GTR, or maybe a 997TT, so I will keep my American car count to 1.

The car was sold, so I didn't get a chance to drive it yet. I am in Miami on business and hopefully will get a chance to drive one this week.
