Awesome AM experiences anyone?
Awesome AM experiences anyone?
I am a long-time Aston fan, and am writing articles for http://0-to-60.com, and I came here looking for Aston Martin owners/drivers who had some fun or interesting stories about their cars. I'd love to hear whatever you have. Thanks!

Well I am far from a writer nor do I tell stories that well but a few experiences include taking my then new 2007 Vantage down to South Beach back in July of '07. The model was a bit rare then (and still is). we had it parked in front of the hotel Victor, which is directly on the beach/walking strip - to say every one stopped, looked, commented and snapped pictures would be an understatement - we and the staff just talked w/ folks. laughed and took it all in for several days - no Ferrari had ever made such a splash. I think I was James Bond for a week.
Next would be a week in October and the mountains of western North Carolina - includes the fall colors. If you are a car or bike nut you know about the Tail of the Dragon - something like 318 turns in 11 miles. Well paved with extra space to cut the apex white line - as in reach out and touch the side of the mountain close - fantasic road - and nothing stayed up with us. But even better are all the roads around this area - they are a well kept secrect that rival anything in Europe. Switch backs, high speed/low speed curves, short foot down straights, great views including streams and rivers right beside the roads. Even had a Champagne lunch out in the middle of one of the creeks. Had several large rocks that we used to walk and sit on with my wife.
And another is driving on the Sebring track - the car handles very well - and the exhaust sound as you go thru the revs coming out of turn 17 w/ the pitwalls on your right - just nothing like it - simply fantastic.

Michael, those are great stories! I can't PM you because I don't have enough posts in the forums yet, can you send me your email? I would love to use them. Thanks for sharing!
