Aston Martin in Chicago

Was thinking about getting a 08 V8 Roadster. Live in the Western suburbs. Looks like there is only one dealer in the area (Lake Bluff). Does anyone know of any other places? Cheers,

Hit the official AM web site - they list all dealers ...

Unfortunately the only one I know is Lake Forest Sports Cars. I happen to live 15 minutes from the dealer so it works out well although I have not needed service yet.

Thats what I thought. It would be nice to have another option. O well give me a excuse to drive. Might just wait and pick up a 09 used. I like the extra power, plus those new wheels.

Shop around the Midwest. Lake Forest is not competitive, IMO. I bought mine out of town and, including shipping, saved $13k versus LFSC's best and final price. About the same with my Quattroporte too.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean how do they perform on Chicago roads versus a C2s? How are they in the winter? Please explain.

Just wondering how they do with the Chicago weather? The Porsche doesnt really mind the cold or the hot humid summer. I do have snow tires for the 911 and if needed its usable. How is the Aston in the snow?

Aston and snow don't really go together. Took mine out a couple of days ago and had to drive through a small snow covered terrain to get to the main road. Was no fun at all, but my M3 is the same. These rear drive sports cars are not made for the snow at all...

I used to drive modded C4 and C5 Corvettes, M3's, 911's, etc. year 'round with no problems. I never had a 3rd car until a few years ago. I am used to driving rear wheeled cars in the snow and think I am quite good at it. You can gain confidence once you spend time in an empty parking lot to learn the ABS, etc. The issue I had with the Corvette's is the lack of ground clearance. The AM or 911 does not have this issue. I look at it this way. It snows heavily maybe 5 times all year. For the most part Chicago and the surrounding suburbs do an excellent job of clearing the snow, although this year has not been as good. I was never deterred from getting the car I wanted for the 5 days or so a year it snowed. If I had an important meeting I would simply rent a car from Enterprise for $40/day for the peace of mind. Now, I have never driven the AM in the snow but have driven it in the rain. It handles just as good in the rain as all of my other toys if that is any indication. If you commute long distance than I might be a little more weary but I have so many friends that drive their C2s, Z06, M5, etc. year 'round in the snow with no problems. It sounds like you are used to it if you drive your 911 year 'round as well.
