Exhaust choice on a 09 Vantage

I recently bought a new AM Vantage V8,

I ordered the Quicksilver supersports exhaust (which is the middle loudest, not the plus version which i heard is extremely loud) to get a louder and more agressive sound.

but it turned out to be very quiet, as the original was allready very loud !

I made a movie with original sound starts from 1m07 :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CMpL9I8EQk

and one with the supersports:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz9Em8w5vHw

you can clearly hear the supersports of QS is a lot more quieter, the second video wasn't shot outdoors, but in a big hall, where the sound should be even louder !

I called QS about it and they were willing to send another supersports' exhaust to me. This one arrived at my aston dealership today. It will be put on this friday. I hope it will be better.

If not, i will just sell it and put on the original again.

Yesterday though.. I saw a clip from a tubi exhaust on a vantage. And it seems really nice.

Would this create the ultimate italian V8 sound? A friend of mine recently purchased a Maserati Granturismo S. And I fell in love with the sound of it. I would like to make my vantage sound a little bit more similar...

Do you guys think the TUBI would be right for that ?

You drop 200 cell cats in your car - I have them w/ RSC "quiet" verson exhaust on my '07 Vantage - change in cats adds a great deal of sound and provides much more "breathing" on back end. You will not believe the difference in sound a change in the cats makes !

won't a change of cats, damage the engine?

i read here and there it doesn't do good to your car, and i also believe it could void your warranty !

I changed my air filters to K&N, put in the 200 cell cats, RSC open exhaust and now have the AM Power Kit installed. No damage to engine and a nice increase in HP. I do not know anyone that changed cats/exhaust and then had engine problems. I did it several times on previous P-cars too. Probably an adjustment to fuel mixture (SW changes) is a good idea to get the full benefits.

QS SuperSports should give you plenty of nice loud noise. I have the regular QS Sports and I have been happy with it because I wanted somewhat quiet at idle and a bit more noise at acceleration but not ear popping. So it worked ok for me. RSC and Tubi are also very good. I think it's hard to say which is the best. All depends on personal preference (noise level etc) but I feel they are all good products. Let us know what you end up with.

No those were shot in Vancouver at the end of our West Coast tour in March. Out at UBC.

That video is actually a copy of an original 360 Forged/RSC Tuning production. It's a little confusing for people because the RSC & 360 Forged intro is cut off, but just to clear things up RSC has been producing its own line of exhaust systems and catalysts since early 2008 and no longer has any association with Quicksilver despite what is inferred by the title. The original film this was copied from can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lwzObiqlWE

just wanted to keep you guys updated: i finally got my new quicksilver supersports exhaust and it's way better than the system before !

i love it now !

no drone, much louder when you hit the gas and silent on stationary sound

all my friends love the sound now too and think it's also way better than the previous supersports AND the original exhaust.

very happy with it.
