advice on vantage price

just looking for opinions on the deal i've been offered on a new 09 vantage...

sticker price is $131k - they are offering it to me for $103

i am trading in 2 vehicles...

1. 2009 porsche 911s - $75k now
2. 2008 ducati 1098s - $11.5k

any thoughts? ( i would like to think i can get more for the porsche and the duc)

That sticker price indicates that the car is a medium equipped coupe. Make sure its not missing any options that you'll be surprised it doesn't come standard with (I was amazed what is an option on a car with this kind of price tag).

I don't follow prices on the Porsche or the Ducati, so I don't know it those are good or not. On their offering price by itself, its pretty good, but given that we are into the 2010 model year they might go a hair lower, but they might not. Don't know what color it is either. A yellow one will be tougher for them to sell than, lets say, black.

But if its the car you really want, I wouldn't let a thousand or two stop you.

Damn, that is insane. I bought a 2007 with a sticker of $135k and did not do nearly that good. In fact, when I purchased my car prices were at or slightly below sticker. Boy have times changed. Maybe the $103k is so good as they are playing with the trade in value of your Pcar and Ducati. I would think a new, untitled '09 would go for a around $110k as AM has reduced production considerably due to the recession.

Come to think of it I should call my dealer and see if they have any '09's left in stock. Maybe I will trade my '07 in and upgrade as a big chunck of the depreciation is accounted for already. Hmm.

i'd be surprised if they'd go much lower on the Vantage, but you could probably get a few extra grand for your trade-ins. if you sold private party, you'd get even more for them.

It's really foolish to trade both of the vehicles. If money is no object do it. If you want to get the most for them, then sell privately. Sounds really cheap considering when I got my 07 Vantage I paid 10k under sticker.

i guess i'm just cheap...we are into 2010 - the 09's are old already - they need to factor that in...i didn't build my business by not being cheap...i think there is another $10k of play....

btw - i rode the bike 6 times last summer - its amazing but i don't have the time to enjoy it...

I left the dealer yesterday, the prices are holding well for these cars. I tried several times in the last month to get people to lower their prices... wasn't happening. I thought I could do better too, didn't happen. 100K for an 09... sounds pretty fair, 30K off in one year???

They had a 09 DBS at the dealer..less than 10K miles for $174k, now thats a lot off the original price! gorgeous car.

Agreed. I made a few calls and could not get $30k off on a new '09. Best I was able to get was ~$25k off and it was a low option car. I really think the value has stabilized as AM is producing fewer cars and not many are trading.

thanks for the input guys...i think my real sticking point is the trade in values....$71k for the car and $13k for the bike..done deal...oh well..too cold to drive any of these toys for a few months anyway...
