'06-07 Antenna Delete?

Is there any way to delete the roof antenna from an '06/7 Vantage? Are there any aftermarket options to replace it with something more sleek?

I actually like mine

I also wanted to get rid of it when I just got the car, but then it started growing on me. The good FM reception doesn't hurt either. (the in-window setup of my bmw vert didn't sound that great)

I don't like it either and I unscrewed the antenna on day 1 when I got the car and it now only has the base. The reception is still the same/good. Indeed I would rather delete it all together.

I took the after-market stubby antenna off my Mini Cooper and tried it on my Vantage ... fits perfectly!
The contour of the antenna's bell and the car's base is identical on both vehicles.

I use the 4" version, and think it looks just fine.

Do you think that we would save some weight by switching to a shorter style? Every 100lbs saves a tenth of a second in the quarter mile.

Here are a few pictures. The color isn't as different as these photos indicate - it's mainly the texture difference you're seeing here.

Don't forget the decrease in drag .... probably get an extra 20 or 30 mph on the top end from this mod.

Amazing. I never thought to just unscrew the antenna. I just did it and I like the look much better without it. Now, I just hope the radio reception is still decent. I wonder if I should plug the remaining thread hole with something so that water doesn't just sit in there. ?.?

It's amazing to me that so many people have such an issue with the antenna! Never even gave it a second thought.
